Post by Rory McCloskey »

i was surfing the web today and looking at old vintage pictures, and i stumbled across this....

Image

at first i thought it was just these 2 friends messing aroudn n goofing off, but under the picture it said that they found in an exhibition in florida? does anyone know anythign about this, im very interested. all i could find on the fight was that it was held sometime in the mid 30's and that it was a 2 round draw.

if anyone could shed some light on this it would be much appreciated....

It was a gag exhibition...nothing at all serious about it...Dempsey would have killed the Babe!

they would have had to give babe a baseball bat in the ring. that would be his only chance.

I bet the Babe could have beaten Dempsey in a hot dog eating contest. 8)

Although Ruth could really put away the hot dogs, I bet the Babe could beat this 100 lb Oriental chick that I saw in a hot dog eating contest...in fact...no one can...that little woman is the champion hot dog and more recently cream cheese cake eater! She went up against at 400+ lb man in the cheese cake contest and he ate something like ten pounds of cheese cake in 9 minutes while she ate 11+ lbs of cheese cake in the same time.

In twelve minutes that cat ate 50 1/2 hot dogs, he only weighs 130. The Oriental chick is coming on though...I thought that she won the last hot dog contest, but like you said, it is Takeru "Tsunami" Kobayashi who is the king dog-man. Sonya Thomas is the woman that I was thinking of, she holds several records that seem unreal considering just how small she is:

I found that she has her own website as well:

http://www.sonyatheblackwidow.com/

This is her ten favorite records that she has:

a. Acme Oysters: 46 dozen (552) in 10 minutes.
b. Hard-Boiled Eggs: 65 in 6' 40 seconds.
c. Downtown Atlantic Cheesecake: 11 pounds in 9 minutes.
d. Buffalo Wings: 162 (5.09 pounds) in 12 minutes.
e. Soft-shell Maine Lobster: 44 (11.4 pounds) in 12 minutes.
f. 84 Lumber Baked Beans: 8.4 pounds in 2' 47 seconds.
g. Cheese Quaesadillas: 31 1/2 (four-inch size) in 5 minutes.
h. Lulu's Crawfish Jambalaya: 9 pounds in 10 minutes.
i. Chicken Nuggets: 80 in 5 minutes.
j. Ultra Rich Sweet Potato Casserole: (w/Pecans): 8.62 pounds in 11 minutes.
