ali and pads

was in boxing news today, good question,did ali do pads?

Pads weren't invented till long after that mate

Dundee always said that Ali was a terrible gym boxer, in sparring he would use alot of it for fitness and just show his class in 10 or 15 second bursts

Yep I'm not sure either... Pads are such a staple these days but their not quite the be all that people seem to think - for my last fight I did precisely 5-6 rounds on the pads one afternoon. I get much more from sparring.
