Don Curry v Tommy Hearns at welterweight
Hearns did not develop his shaky chin until after he fought Haglar. Both Haglar and Leonard, who was a hard puncher himself, had to hit Tommy ALOT to finish him off. he never fully recovered after the haglar fight, and was often shaken when tagged thereafter.
Hearns destroys Curry in less than 3 rounds by the way.

I would be confident in Hearns winning by KO in around 5-7 rounds.

Agreed prime Curry had a terrific killer instinct. He tore Jones face to shreds, and he destroyed nino la rocca once he had his man hurt. Even the fading Curry was able to brutalise a spoiler like Gianfranco rosi scare him into not fighting than finish him off after multi knockdownsMightyWarrior wrote:Don't know how you can say that if you've ever seen the McCrory KO. The guy was a sitting duck, and Curry stepped in and finished him with a murderous shot that almost took his head off.ShoeShine wrote:I will go with Hearns, Curry was good but he didnt have that killer instinct.Ezzard wrote:In their primes, who wins?
I'd give a prime Curry a good chance here - at his peak he was very hard to hit, and probably could have got Tommy in trouble with a counter from either hand. Similar to the first Leonard fight, Hearns might've got on his bike and outboxed Curry for awhile, maybe winning a close fight on points.

Hearns by KO. Curry had a china chin just like Hearns, but I think Hearns will hit Curry first. Curry was good, but not at Hearns level. At 154lbs, would be much worse for Curry.
