Thanks for putting this up Brutu.
This is a great old video of Chicago boxing in the early eighties.
The great thing of interest for myself was seeing Joes cutman in the corner.
The bald white guy with the q-tip in his mouth Laury Meyer was my cutman too a couple years later. He was a great guy who I havent seen since my wedding which he came to in 89.He was a friend.
Laury passed away a few years ago. It really stirred up some memories watching that.

scroll down to see some ring action photos of Frazier vs Cummings.
look at the weird face Cummings is giving Frazier.
IMOP It looks similiar to the weird expression that Ron Lyle
gave to Ali in the ring before their fight.

I have never seen one second of Frazier-Cummings and I ain't starting now.

Pretty much have the same attitude towards Frazier-Foreman II, though I did force myself to see that one.

Joe's career ended in Manila, as far as I'm concerned.

In truth, it should have ended after the FOTC.

I take the same stance, actually. Frazier is a guy who, for his style and courage in between and beyond the ropes, tugs at my heart strings.

I'll never watch him in that state.

He was as courteous a guy as Floyd Patterson. And that's sayin' a lot.

It's sad in a way as Frazier was so rusty and shot but it was actually a close fight and I have no problems with the draw. All the talk about robbery and Frazier being on the verge of a knock out is bs. It was a slow and mauling fight that gave Joe the final answer, it was over but he saw the final bell and didn't loose.

Who's the Russian guy?
I think it may be either Igor Vysotsky(who retired in 1980) or Evgeny Gorstkov(who had defeated Greg Page as a amateur around that time).
Despite their reputations ,Im not familiar with either
amateur Soviet boxers due to lack of taped amateur bouts.

In 1975 Jumbo Cummings had a 48 inch chest,
32 inch waist
and 19 inch pythons.
When he came up from Getback Mississippi to Chicago via Greyhound bus in 1966 at age 16,
he joined a notorius gang, the East Side Disciples.
As an amateur he defeated Bonecrusher Smith,Paris Flowers,Billy Boy Thompson
and the Russian amateur Mikhail Subbotin.

Amazing that Frazier had a draw with Jumbo, and yet, Mitch Green beat him.

Forever chasing Ali, Frazier would go to the end's of the earth to destroy the man whom he felt ruined his career. The whole comeback was with one purpose, to get ranked, and challenge Ali for a fourth time. Of course, Ali failed miserably against Holmes, and failed to beat Berbick. Frazier, on the other hand, 'drew' Cummings (a fight in which I think Smokin' Joe arguably may of won).
