Barker on the other hand could of gone for Geale, Strum or Chavez, won a world title, defended it against Murray or Macklin and made a name for himself in Britain, bagged more money and then gone for Martinez.
Murray was signed by Warren and he said he can be massive star in Manchester. First fight under new promotional outfit was at York hall second Mitchell in Liverpool then thrown at Rios possibly to get Cotto fight on the channel. Murray would been better staying with Mick.
Bloody hell leforge I agree with you for once.
Completely mismanaged since he moved.

There is a famous actor called Amir Khan, he's a bigger name than the boxer.

Wow, staggered by groves position, always had a big crowd in the ams but that's impressive.
Yes but when you have a name like that, sites will come up on leafy groves, perry groves, st george, the George and Dragon pub etc etc.

He actually only gets 205,000 hits if you use an advanced search for "George Groves".
Ah, I'd assumed the speech marks had been used. That's probably more like I would have expected! :TU:

Allegedly channel isn't available online at any price yet, Primetime is only available in the UK and Ireland, which is pointless because surely the only people who'd take the web service over the TV one would be outside of those countries, and others who offer good streams do it live only, without the choice to watch on demand later, which again would suit people in different time zones.
10 quid? 5 quid? Whatever.

There are some very very strange characters on boxing forums. There are people who are such big fans of boxing that they have 10's of thousands of posts on boxing forums, but when a dedicated boxing channel comes along, what do they do?

Act like its the end of civilization as we know it, because it costs 10 quid a month.
Since encryption, in 2 months and therefore, at a cost of £20, BN have delivered:

Dereck Chisora v Robert Helenius
Miguel Cotto v Antonio Margarito II / John Murray v Brandon Rios
Gennaday Golovkin v Lajuan Simon
Lee Selby v John Simpson
Leon Williams v Shane McPhilbin
Robert Stieglitz v Henry Weber
Derry Matthews v Ermano Marsili

and about 8 hours of live Steve Bunce.

I pay my money, it won't break the bank, but I can complain that it is not a value for money service, or at least it hasn't been over the last 2 months. For me, its a case of quantity over quality at the moment. I'd happily have sacrificed 6 of the above cards (and all of Bunce) for the one card of real interest since the beginning of December, namely this weekends Chavez Jnr v Rubio / Donaire v Vazquez / Vanes Martirosyan card. Instead, this weekend we have Dodson v McKenzie and the Cunningham rematch from Germany.
Not at all bad for £20 quid, Chavez Jnr-Rubio-Donaire-Vasquez aint that great fights so I'll keep the six fights above and the Bunce Hour thanks.

All in all I'm quite happy with what I've been getting and what's coming up for the price of two KFC's a month.

OP question is FWP on the slide?I'm not sure about that. It just seems to me they are putting a lot of time and money into getting their BN channel established. Hopefully it comes off and carries on delivering more fights. The opening at Sky leaves room for more promoters which has to be good for the game.

I'm looking forward to seeing what more fights allegedly picks up.

Good they got it but as a last minute deal it wont add many subscribers which this channel needs. The overseas shows are the best thing on the channel the UK shows have been very poor since subcription. Mckenzie v Dodson ok but the Mitchell bill is a stinker. THe best UK show planned by Warren is Groves v Anderson.

For me its too early to tell. But for FW, allegedly biggest failing is the absolutely shocking quality of the production of some of its vt's etc.

I felt embarrassed for Rawling trying to rip off HBO's Face Off with such shoddy camerawork. I'm no expert with a camera but I guarantee I could have done a better job my Canon 550d.

Its things like that, that do count. Buncey's set looks like its about to cave in at any given moment. I don't think its got any direction, doesn't know where its going. Quality doesn't have to be expensive, its just about getting the right people in.

The most important thing though is the quality of the fights it shows, and so far it hasn't been too bad, but how long can this last? I'm not sure, even with the german rights and big fights from the states if FW can sustain it.

But will the very big fights from the states end up on it. If currently about 50 % of the hardcore fans susbcribe thats never going to be enough to make the channel last. The better quality the production and picture means more money has to be spent on production is there enough!

In an effort to contradict my reputation I am going to say something positive about Warren, or more precisely, allegedly!

Bunce has just announced that the Donaire and Chavez fights will be shown on saturday night. Great stuff. Saturday looks to be a great evening of boxing across Sky and BN.

One thing for any BN employees that read our outpourings - it's a late night fight card that may overrun - make sure you don't narls up then ending and ruin my sunday morning watching only half of the fight as the recording ends too soon. It's simple to sort, so bloody well get it right.

I use Sky+ and I just press record. It works for every other programme that gets recorded, but five times now have allegedly recordings ended midway through a fight. Yes, there's a manual work around, but I shouldn't have to do it for a premium channel.

Regardless, securing this card is pleasing and hopefully bodes well for future broadcasts.

Fight probably did not cost much but gvery good addition. It the quality of the Uk shows is the my main concern and if rumours are true will they improve. Groves bill is the best one scheduled. Burns fight is not bad either.

The business plan behind allegedly is in my view flawed. Made a big splash with the people they have got in yet as with setanta they are totally reliant on subscribers and they have targetted themselves far far too many.

I can see allegedly folding shortly.

I can see a number of withdrawls from certain shows if a certain promoter does not come up with certain guarantees.

Shame for boxing.

When someone has been 'found out' and has no defence, then the inclination is to resort to insults. An old, archiac method which is laughable. Rough translation to 'You've cottoned onto to my idea and I can't justify it, so just shut up'.

Internet forum warriors, specifically those who post here, were the same people who sighed, shook their heads back in the late 80's, 90's etc at some of the match ups and blatant pathetic spin. The difference then was, you'd write a letter to Boxing News or whatever and sometimes is was published or just brushed under the carpet. Now you can't do that as we have internet and these guys don't like it as real people actually get to read it and question it.
