Ex forces Professional Boxers
we all know Nigel Benn was an ex Army LCpl, Neville Meade was in the RAF Regiment with my father, I believe Flournoy and Dilks were squaddies? Amir Unsworth is still a serving soldier. Billy Bessey was in the Army.

While I was in army, There was some good boxers that turned pro, I did help train some towards the end of the 80s, , Tony Velinor, and Ian Strudwicke,
others that were with me whilst we boxed in the early 80s, Rob Mota, Junior Akinlame (we passed our PTI course together),

Carl Crook used to have his shorts made into the para colours (maroon & light blue piping), if I remember rightly.

A couple of locals: Max Maxwell was in the navy, and Stuart Elwell was a Royal Marine.
