When someone has been 'found out' and has no defence, then the inclination is to resort to insults. An old, archiac method which is laughable. Rough translation to 'You've cottoned onto to my idea and I can't justify it, so just shut up'.

Internet forum warriors, specifically those who post here, were the same people who sighed, shook their heads back in the late 80's, 90's etc at some of the match ups and blatant pathetic spin. The difference then was, you'd write a letter to Boxing News or whatever and sometimes is was published or just brushed under the carpet. Now you can't do that as we have internet and these guys don't like it as real people actually get to read it and question it.

I can remember the 1980's with Mickey Duff et al. it weren't much better back then and the established guys weren't that keen on any real competition. Mr Warren came along and shook things up; and it did need it. He did a lot to bring the sport on and then became the 'new boss'. The digital and internet age has brought about profound changes to the wider world. I had imagined that with the 2 sons coming into the sport/business that the head guy would be relaxing a little more. For a long time he hasn't looked to be enjoying the sport that's helped to make him very wealthy.

We'll have to see how it plays out but there doesn't seem to be just the 'one obvious choice' of promoter/manager for the London Olympians; It's all altering and I agree that the ordinary fans have more of a say now.

Anyone that thinks that McIntosh was avoiding Bellew by taking 55k more than he was offered for the Bellew fight to go abroad and fight a harder opponent, has clearly spent too much time being zapped on the sun beds.
Im not slating the interview..Just him putting his snout in,he wouldnt have said it if Danny was promoted by his own puppet master....

I think Sky have shown a lot more than 456 since it turned PPV in the last calendar month :-

Khan vs Peterson, Froch vs Ward for starters. Fights worth your money. True world class fights.

Then nice little fights like Quigg vs Booth, David Price vs McDermott, Felix Sturm vs Martin Murray, Aaron vs Rose, Theophane etc.

Cotto vs Marg aside from the states, what we had on 456 ? put them up and we can do a fair comparison. We've had a show from Halifax (?) with two patsy's fighting Chisora and McKenzie.

We should be kissing 456 and praising them as the saviour, with night after night of top class action. The reality is it's TBA and then it's a repeat, Bunce or completely off-air. I started the first ever thread on here for feedback and praised their opening York Hall card. It was blinding - Enzo Macc did well and the fight (Appleby etc) was brilliants. Clev v Bellew, brilliant again.

Since encyption it's been mother hubbard.

What im pointing out is that for myself,BN holds its own aginst sky. All i watch is boxing, yet it costs me over 30 quid for sky and a tenner for BN. I get more value from BN,since it went ppv
up untill the foreseeable future.

Mitchell vs Somebody ?

Lets compare what has actually aired to date - not what has been promised.

And with regards your £30 question: 41 entertainment channels, 15 in HD, Five dedicated sports channels in HD with live football, rugby, golf and boxing. Plus free telephone and broadband.

Plus your sky HD box and access to sky anytime.

Well I'm happy with what has been scheduled this month on Box N ation and is excellent value for money.

As for getting all that off Sky for £30 quid, I pay more like £70 with HD Movies, Sports and Broadband.

This thread has been an interesting read.

You all argue the validtiy of bo allegedly and whether it is worth £10 per month. Some of you are making a stance of refusing to pay this subscription. Where as some have argued passionately how much value for money the channel is.

Absolutely regardless of what side of the fence you sit on, the vast majority of you are missing a vital point and that is as mentioned earlier on in this thread, in my view the business plan is severley flawed, that is not the fault of alledgedly, or the tv channel itself. It comes down to the popularity of the sport and whether we like it or not, unless it is a truly massive fight, us boxing fans are in a very small minority. Whether you guys think it is true or not, there are simply not enough of us to sustain a boxing channel like bo allegedly.

In my view unless all boxing fans support the b allegedly channel, it will fold. There will be some people pleased at the demise of a certain promoter.

I subcribed bit shocked at picture and production too be honest. It was always going to be hard to get the subscriber numbers required not enough hardcore fans even if all subcribed.

Price v Mcdermott on sky sports 1 did not make there top 10 viewers that week , the 10th place had 168000 so I reckon Price got around 100k mark. So allegedly would be doing well to get around 40000-50000 viewers.

Great to see Appleby back in action so soon after the Walsh loss. The time out of the ring was really damaging him imo. Now he's had a rest, the scars have healed and he's back in a meaningful - but very winnable - fight :TU:

Only for the bigger fights.

The problem is, a lot of fans will subscribe for the one off fights then cancel the subscription.

Its the lesser shows which needs the numbers to build up the pot to stage the bigger shows if that makes sense otherwise the numbers will not stack up and the channel will be doomed to failure.

Anyone who is a boxing fan should want this channel to succeed. However, whether we like it or not, boxing, is a dwindling minority sport which simply does not get the numbers to be able to sustain its own boxing channel. The PPV method for the bigger shows will always work because it gets the media exposure to bring in the fans who will not attend the show in person.

Dare I say it, UFC gets the exposure because they have not skimped on the advertising budget and they remain consistent in that absolutely necessary area.

Unless the b allegedly channel gains more numbers it will have to have deep pockets.
