why is it fairly clear tha sam would win a return?Superheavy wrote:While it was close and the improvements were clear to see, I think it's still fairly clear that Sam would win a return, whereas I think you'd have a good chance of beating Skelton or Dallas - that would put you in the frame for bigger fights and would give you more time to improve along the way.warmachine wrote:I take ur point mate but I wanted sextons ranking position so i could be in a good position for a british title shot

Larry your definitly got better but u would never beat Sexton,if that fight would have carried on ud have lost by a wider points loss...Keep plugging along&get in with Dallas after he beat Skelton.a fight u can win....warmachine wrote:why is it fairly clear tha sam would win a return?Superheavy wrote:While it was close and the improvements were clear to see, I think it's still fairly clear that Sam would win a return, whereas I think you'd have a good chance of beating Skelton or Dallas - that would put you in the frame for bigger fights and would give you more time to improve along the way.warmachine wrote:I take ur point mate but I wanted sextons ranking position so i could be in a good position for a british title shot
Re: Tom Dallas Vs Matt Skelton
I disagree, i didn't see anything in Sextons performance to say that he is leagues above Larry or Tom Dallas or skelton for that matter. these 4 guys can all be challanging for a british title by the end of the year in my oppinion they should all fight each other see who is the best then the one who comes out on top challanges for the british and or commonwealth titlesTommy Gunn13 wrote:Larry your definitly got better but u would never beat Sexton,if that fight would have carried on ud have lost by a wider points loss...Keep plugging along&get in with Dallas after he beat Skelton.a fight u can win....warmachine wrote:why is it fairly clear tha sam would win a return?Superheavy wrote: While it was close and the improvements were clear to see, I think it's still fairly clear that Sam would win a return, whereas I think you'd have a good chance of beating Skelton or Dallas - that would put you in the frame for bigger fights and would give you more time to improve along the way.

Sam is a level above the likes of Dallas&Big Larry but not quite the level of Price&Fury....

sexton is not leagues above me and he couldn't show that in that fight and i know a rematch would go my way. remember thats from almost a year out he had a warm up. I also was ill on the night but had to fight for financial reasons and this is all truth.

Re: Tom Dallas Vs Matt Skelton
I had Sam winning every round, albeit each round was fairly close. You see a lot of those fights where one fella is just that little bit slicker than the other and that was the case here. I think it would be difficult for you to turn that round skills-wise in 2-3 months and while there's always the possibility you'd bang him out, I think Sam's got enough about him to avoid that. However, if you take on someone like Dallas in the meantime, I think you could win that fight and give yourself a bit longer to develop the skills - especially with the dedication you seem to have been putting into that side of things.warmachine wrote:why is it fairly clear tha sam would win a return?Superheavy wrote:While it was close and the improvements were clear to see, I think it's still fairly clear that Sam would win a return, whereas I think you'd have a good chance of beating Skelton or Dallas - that would put you in the frame for bigger fights and would give you more time to improve along the way.warmachine wrote:I take ur point mate but I wanted sextons ranking position so i could be in a good position for a british title shot

If you get the rematch which you deserve Larry,Sexton will beat you&pull away in the later rounds&beat you wide on points....Why do you think u can beat him??? Sam was near his worst that night&can perform so much better...can you?warmachine wrote:sexton is not leagues above me and he couldn't show that in that fight and i know a rematch would go my way. remember thats from almost a year out he had a warm up. In my view dallas is too big and powerful for sexton is that ok?
I thought war machine was starting to get to sexton , sexton look pleased it was over and gases after 5 rounds is that ok to have my view?

I dictated the first two rounds with the jab, and blocked most of his so how could I not have won a round? Glad the ref was scoring it well

Re: Tom Dallas Vs Matt Skelton
A decent contest this one. I can see Dallas stopping Skelton around the 7th, with Skelton looking tired. A good fight to see if Tom can get over the confidence sapping lose to Price.
As for Larry and Sexton, I don't believe that as someone has stated, Sam is a class above Larry. A rematch would certainly be justified, we only got to see 5 rounds.
If Fury vacates, which looks very likely, it'll be Price V Sexton for the British Title, a contest that Larry might have found himself in if he had of beat Sam. Sam isn't going to agree to a rematch when he can see this fight around the corner, is he?
There are a lot of decent fights out there between the likes of McDermot, Sexton, Dallas, Larry, and Towers. Throw in some of the names that still have pull, likes of Skelton, Rogan, Audley and Sprott, and you've got a very interesting heavyweight scene in the UK.
Fights with Fury, Price and Chisora are also all possible. Although, I believe Chisora will probably only have one more fight late this year once Vitali's done with him

Dallas vs Skelton
This has been scheduled for March, and I think this has potential to be a decent heavyweight battle. Both like to come forward. I want Dallas to win, but this is gonna be a real tough scrap! What do you think???

I would like to see the winner of this vs Olubamiwo for the English title if Price vacates it.

good southern area title fightbigped wrote:Dallas will beat skelton no problem larry should try get the winner of this rather than chasing sexton,IRLangmaid25 wrote:So you think Dallas might take on a tights points win then Larry or a late stoppage? Also have you heard anything about a potential rematch with Sam Sexton then as you were not happy about the points verdict going against you as Sexton got cut on a accidential headclash.warmachine wrote:I think Tom will win this but it will be a tough fight as Matt Skelton is no mug

dont know what big john is doing yet he may well want to defend that southern area i think he still holds it ?Darcy Delaney wrote:good southern area title fightbigped wrote:Dallas will beat skelton no problem larry should try get the winner of this rather than chasing sexton,IRLangmaid25 wrote: So you think Dallas might take on a tights points win then Larry or a late stoppage? Re: Tom Dallas Vs Matt Skelton
According to the Board of Control's website he is still listed as their Southern Area Champion so I expect he will make a defence soon. As for Tyson Fury and David Price the Board of Control has published a circular from the CBC calling for pursebids on it as they have decreed that it is a mandatory defence of both the Commonwealth and British titles so I expect that Fury will face Price, otherwise he will be slaughtered on here and in the press for not taking on Price and settling a score from the amateur ranks as I think Price-Fury if gets made will generate alot of interest here in the UK.
Re: Tom Dallas Vs Matt Skelton
I really hope that the Price Fury fight happens as you say if Fury doesn't face price then he will get slaughterd in the press and deservidly so and as for southern area belt if john defends it it should be against Big larry or Tom Dallas if he vacates then i think Larry and Tom should fight for itIRLangmaid25 wrote:According to the Board of Control's website he is still listed as their Southern Area Champion so I expect he will make a defence soon.
