Not only would I pay for Frazier/Holyfield over the other two, I'd agree to never even know the results of the other fights. I honestly think that is the greatest mythical fight that can be hypothesized about. There really is no scenario where it isn't the greatest fight ever seen.

Unlike the other two threads I made, I LITERALLY cannot make a decision here. I change between the three every minute.

Well while I think the other fights would be hellacious and entertaining , I would much rather settle the debate on the greatest heavyweight of all time.

Thats the irresistable draw of that ticket...it probably would prove the least entertaining (still puite exciting) bout and have the least replay value, but as an event, and to be ringside for, its hard to top!The End wrote:Well while I think the other fights would be hellacious and entertaining , I would much rather settle the debate on the greatest heavyweight of all time.
There are REALLY good cases for all three fights. Its impossible to pick one, IMO.

Thats the best bet for entertainment, Frazier-Holyfield.
Its a guaranteed war, no doubt whatsoever. The other two cant promise what it does.

Its really difficult to pick out of the 3 fights here. All fights would have been legendary.
Frazier/Holyfield would make for a pretty sik fight.

Yup, and I can't be certain Louis/Ali would settle anything for me. Many different possibilities and decisions that aren't popular. Joe or Evander is meeting their maker in there, no potential sporting event I'd take over that. It would make Castillo/Corrales look like tiddlywinks.Goodnight, Irene wrote:Thats the best bet for entertainment, Frazier-Holyfield.

How do you see Liston-Foreman panning out?

Liston is like prehistoric writing to me. I just can't get a read on him. As gungh-ho as I am on proving yourself against the best I have a hard time picking against Sonny in any fight. If you sent me back to Miami in a time machine to bet on Clay, knowing the result, I would probably take one look at Sonny and lose it all.

Id take Liston...dunno if Id bet on it, though.
Potentially, that COULD be a more enthralling fight than Frazier-Holyfield.

Are we to assume that Sonny has worked out his "balance" issues when tackling this question?Goodnight, Irene wrote:How do you see Liston-Foreman panning out?

So you really think Holyfield is one of the two best head to head heavyweights of all-time, huh?The End wrote:Well while I think the other fights would be hellacious and entertaining , I would much rather settle the debate on the greatest heavyweight of all time.

I would go for Liston v Foreman, very hard to pick the winner but am going with big George based on his fight with Lyle.

I'd have to go Ali - Louis because the clash of styles and skillsets is so interesting to me.

Id go for Liston vs Foreman for the reason that I've gone over this fight in my head so many times and just cannot pick a winner. To me it's a bit like "what came 1st the chicken or the egg"
They are all dream fights, but with the other two matches I feel I know the winners:
I see Ali using his jab and move on Louis to get a decision, as I don't think Louis will be able to unload his deadly combos on a prime Ali.
And I think Frazier will be to much for Holyfield although funny enough I could see this being the best fight of the three.

It has to be Ali vs Louis
The two most complete all-rounded Heavyweights in history facing off... That is an irrestible lure for any boxing fan, surely.
I'd still prefer to watch Ali vs Marciano though.

On the other two battles:
Foreman overpowers Liston in a bang-fest.
Frazier stops Holyfield in the late rounds (10 or 11).

Re: Which Would You Pay More To Be Ringside For (HW)?
I doubt the Ali vs Louis fight would be very competitive.

Scallum doesn't think anyone can compete with Ali, not even Frazier.

True . . . but I bet not for the reason you think.scallum wrote:I doubt the Ali vs Louis fight would be very competitive.
