clinton , my personal view

i think mr warren is trying to get enzo a title again by making this match , shane deserves more of a rest. 2 clear months between title fights especially as shane went 12 rounds is not enough. i think he may be being rushed back too soon.

middle to late april yes but not the middle of march

i just think that for championship level you need at least 6 weeks training camp , if thats true shane has only 2 weeks to let his body rest from the williams fight.

i hope shane does well and is being paid good money for taking this fight so soon

so much for light heavyweight being the ideal weight for enzo and where he should have been all the time....why do fighters and their trainers talk such bull.

Enzo wants to fight at l/h but Mcphilbin is seen as a quicker, easier way to get back in the frame.
Essentially they will be buying the title, I hope Shane gets a good price.

so is enzo putting on 2 stone in a month for this one, the yo-yo ing of bodyweight will make the brittle chinned maccarinelli more vulnerable to headshots and will affect his stamine, look out for him getting sparked if mcphilbin connects.

Just seen this in Nottingham post .

id imagine W arren will want the undercard to feature one of his guys too as it would be on allegedly .

Id like to see Frankie Gavin vs Adnan Amar but dont think thats possible with timing , assuming this will be in Nottingham

Be good to give a few Notts lads a run out on the undercard , Leigh Wood , Nathan McIntosh , Curtis Valentine , Gilson de Jesus etc if at all possible and im sure Carl Greaves might want some of his own stable on it , so Locally it could be a good chance for local talent to stand out .

As for the main event itself , Shane can KO Enzo , but Enzo has power himself and shane was knocked down by Williams , i cant see this fight going past 3 or 4 rounds either way , if it does id expect a wide ud win for Macarinelli but with Shane we saw last time he can never be rules out #heartofalion .

I know both these guys personally and will say they are both nice guys albeit in different ways. I think realistically, Shane is going to get stopped here. As much as i like him, He got caught by williams on many occasions and if Enzo lands then it's a different story completely. Enzo also likes going to the body. I hope this doesn't come off and that Enzo stays at light heavy.

From a boxing perspective though mate surely you agree if it happens in nottingham then its the biggest fight weve had in a while outside of carl froch fights , i know it will be difficult for shane but also the chance for other Nottingham fighters to be in the spotlight is a good thing .

Oh yeah i totally agree on it being the biggest fight we have had for a while. However, Adnan Amar and leigh wood i suspect will be fighting in Sheffield the same week on Brook vs Hatton undercard so would be better if it was in april IMO. Also with Froch in may, and AA Lowe vs Maughan in april - they can maybe make it a double bill and put the lowe fight on the undercard. I just feel its unfair that Shane is getting used in order for Enzo to get lonsdale, and for many nottingham lads getting a bit of exposure as a by product. Make no mistake about it, They want this fight so Enzo can win and look good doing so. Following this he may vacate and fight Cleverley as that is clearly in his future plans. To put the fight into perspective - Enzo is being mentioned in same sentences as Cleverley. Mcphilbin had not even had an inkling on the scene until a late pull out. If Shane lasted to midway id be very surprised, but it would be on heart and there would be damage.

Well if its in Wolverhampton that will be pretty dissapointing , midweek too :witzend:

Shane deserves a fight in Nottingham to defend his belt and pull in a big crowd , id hope hes on a big wedge as hes being used by
mr w arren here , they obviously think shanes a soft touch , hopefully he rams that down their throats .

I got the first ever look at Shane the ther week v 'Solid' Williams. He is a tough and fit man and has a lot of heart. If Enzo moves up though, there will be only one winner and it won't be a 'nice' bout to watch, it'd be painful. Though Enzo has had problems at the next level up (v heavy hitters) in Britain he'd be ok for quite a while.

Poor promoting again. If your doing it for Enzo why not make it in Wales.

What is the point of this fight? Enzo is going after Cleverly isn't he?

Is he just going to win this and then vacate it?

No idea why it's a Tuesday in Wolverhampton. The boxing support in Nottingham is pretty big indeed for their fighters.

shane accepted the fight for boxing reasons not money and to say other wise you dont know shane. He wants to fight the best and enzo is one of he best british cruiser ever so how can he turn it down. Shane a fighter who wants to fight. Everybody are allowed there views but like keep it to boxig and not get personal.
