herol graham vs hopkins

Post by tommo100 »

would bomber give b-hop major problems?id`e like to think he would,i don`t think hopkins would have face anyone like graham, though he could well adapt as he always seems to do

question is,graham should have beaten mccallum only for a low blow to sway the decision,so in reality he very nearly defeated one of the most technically gifted fighters ever to enter ring, would he have done the same to hopkins

As difficult as Graham is for anyone, I don't think he gets the job done here. Similar to the Mccallum fight, the decision goes in Hopkins favour.

the mccallum fight both graham and mccallum were fighting at their best level for the time, and both men threw some blistering combinations and tried to dominate the other....as close and cagey as it was. and i had it a draw on the night..i still think overall mccallum was the better boxer....and the same for kalambay-graham it was neck and neck but i always felt kalambay was a shade better....hopkins was better than those other 2 and so he is better than Graham.....as good as graham was he really should have won one of his three title tries he was just as good as the men he fought on the night....Hopkins is a guy who always does what is expected....and is a level higher than even the great mccallum
It pains me to say it but always too many could shoulda's with graham....clearly he could and should have beaten both mccallum and kalambay....the problem with graham is he doesnt have any tremendous body of work behind him like mccallum and kalambay and all the men they beat in their distinguished title reigns at 160.....Graham would not deliver against hopkins and would not be as competitive....I genuinely feel sad saying this as I know Graham should have had a WBA or WBC title and should have made 4-5 defences like the others and he was better than watson and eubanks for sure.

"The Bomber" is very underrated you know... But I can't see him beating Hopkins.

Hopkins

Graham always found a way to lose when it mattered.

One thing's for certain, this would be a very ugly fight. I think a DQ is just as likely as any other outcome.

Yep. Would be similar to how Howard eastman fared...

Graham has to be one of the most gifted boxers ever. But, as such, he never developed the solid fundamentals of McCallum or Hopkins.

On any given night, Graham could have beaten any of these guys. He's right up there with them.

graham had 10 times the ability of eastman, eastman spent 12 rounds wondering how to get a combo off, bomber would have been in and out like a greased weasel, whether he could do it for 12 rounds is another matter, probably not
