Greb/Hagler by a mile. A chance to see Harry and to watch him lose? That's a huge ticket.

s, only in your dreams. You couldn't ko Harry Greb, and you couldn't throw half as many punches.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:Greb/Hagler by a mile. A chance to see Harry and to watch him lose? That's a huge ticket.
so how is Hagler to beat Greb ? Answer : He CAN'T...

Its hard to pick a guy youve never seen fight over someone as great as Hagler...but its even harder for me to imagine Hagler beating Tunney.

Is someone going to KO Hagler? He can't match his resume, but he could whip his ass. Unless your books come with videos of the corpse of greb haunting Marvin dreams. Get over yourself.beaujack wrote:s, only in your dreams. You couldn't ko Harry Greb, and you couldn't throw half as many punches.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:Greb/Hagler by a mile. Great picks, and a very difficult choice but Greb Hagler for me, with Harry winning on points. Like many others I wish for the day that a Greb fight on tape is discovered.

That's why I pick Harry too. Grebs record above his own fighting weight is phenomenal.
Re: Which Would You Pay More To Be Ringside For (MW)?
Im going with Greb-Hagler
Re: Which Would You Pay More To Be Ringside For (MW)?
Greb was not human he beats Hagler imo
Re: Which Would You Pay More To Be Ringside For (MW)?
For me it's Sugar Ray Robinson vs Carlos Monzon.
I would have paid big money to watch the great Sugar Ray in his prime and a fight against Monzon would have veen entertaining...

I would like to see Robinson vs Monzon. And I see Monzon winning.
Re: Which Would You Pay More To Be Ringside For (MW)?
Nay, but my dad saw the Greb/Tunney massacre at MSG in 1922...And all MWs until 1960. S,what about you ? Greb at 160 beat big HOFers as Gene Tunney, Tommy Gibbons, Tommy Loughran, Jack Dillon, Battling Levinsky, Gunboat Smith, Bill Brennan, most all weighing 10-30 pounds more than Harry Greb in a 300 fight career..Tell me S , what top 175-200 pound great fighters did Hagler CHALLENGE, let alone beat. ? Answer NONE. Give credit where credit is due...The End wrote:You've seen Harry Greb fight too?beaujack wrote:s, only in your dreams. Re: Which Would You Pay More To Be Ringside For (MW)?
To see Monzon beat Robinson would not bring me joy.....though I'm nearly certain it would happen. You are pitting the greatest Welterweight against the greatest Middleweight. However, Of these it would be the fight that would be the most interesting.

I assume I am S? If so, WTF are you talking about? Picking Marvin Hagler over him isn't discrediting Greb or his amazing accomplishments. Hagler not fighting Light Heavyweights is highly irrelevant. Bobby Czyz won titles at Light Heavy, Cruiser and won fights at Heavyweight. Does that mean he beats hagler at Middleweight?beaujack wrote:Nay, but my dad saw the Greb/Tunney massacre at MSG in 1922...And all MWs until 1960. S,what about you ? I'm quite aware of Greb's career standing. I can read too. Again, get over yourself. Hagler was as complete a fighter as the sport has ever seen. You're treating him like an also ran. Why don't you get off your high horse and give credit where it is due?

And yes the damn fact that Harry Greb had the tremendous ABILITY to beat great LHs, time and again
fighting FOUR times as many bouts as Hagler [who was great too], is relevant to this post. Sir it is you who is on your "high horse", with all due respect.
P.S. Greb , old and fading, still kicked the hell out of the great Mickey Walker, one year before Greb died
way past his prime....

I'm new at this website and i take boxing seriously. I revere our top fighters of history, yes my idol Harry Greb ,and also Marvin Hagler of recent years. So S, I don't know where you are coming from and if you are just joshing with me, let me know as I too have a sense of humor...SaadOffTheDeck wrote:beaujack wrote:First of all, I don't ride a horse...SaadOffTheDeck wrote: I assume I am S? I don't know what your point is. I rate Harry as the 3rd or 4th greatest fighter in history and I think Marvin Hagler could beat him. That isn't disrespect or humor, it's my opinion. I'm not some kid that needs updates of harry Greb's accomplishments. Not a thing you can post would change my mind.

Once in a while.
Re: Which Would You Pay More To Be Ringside For (MW)?
Oh now I get your drift. You express your opinion that Hagler would beat Harry Greb. Fine with me sir. But when I gave my opinion that Greb because of his record of whipping alltime bigger men, would beat Hagler, you tell me "to get off my high horse "and I am full of myself. Nice way to treat a new poster.!SaadOffTheDeck wrote:beaujack wrote:I'm new at this website and i take boxing seriously. Re: Which Would You Pay More To Be Ringside For (MW)?
It wasn't fine with you, you said in your dreams and Greb can't be KO'd and he once beat a giant named Goliath so there is no way that a tiny, tiny midget like Marvin hagler could possibly compete with him and I should respect Harry more than picking a scrub like hagler over him when he has never even fought a giant.beaujack wrote:Oh now I get your drift. Perhaps a new poster should get his bearings about a place before assuming a position on a high horse. Either way I treat everyone equally poor, so no need to feel picked on.
