Re: Bellew/Macintosh on Sky Sports
Good bit of business for Dave.
The fight deserves TV coverage, and maybe Sky will get the message that Dave is willing to put quality shows on and bid for the fights, and deserves a chance in his own right.
There are spare dates surely following the departure of the Worthy One.
Also good business for Eddie.
Fulfils a contractual date for Sky - with a headliner they will love.

Massive blow for FW this, although i cant say i'm gutted for him.
More of his fighters getting on sky the better if you ask me.

Re: Bellew/Macintosh on Sky Sports
has bellew left fw?
Re: Bellew/Macintosh on Sky Sports
Anyone else notice Bellew at the bowlers last night about 5 rows back and then about 3 rows back for main event. Would've thought he's easily get front row being from Warren's stable.

Liverpool lip?? Lol.. I still think the way Amir left was wrong! He'd just been knocked cold in a min and yet was fighting for a world title 2 fights later! He was well paid and well looked after! These are bold accusations your making about me! I'm not a promoter and I'm not a manager! I'm a fighter! I stay loyal to people who are loyal to me and I always will! All I ask is for people to stick to the promises they make! If they do/did then everything would run smoothly!Tommy Gunn13 wrote:He put down a boxer on this very site after he jumped ship...Id love to here what the Liverpool Lip has to say once he does the same..POT/KETTLE.....
Regarding this fight, I didn't win the purse bid and once again I'm not a promoter so I don't understand why this thread concerns me?

I sat next to one of my best mates! I dont need to be sat in the front pal in all honesty..
Re: Bellew/Macintosh on Sky Sports
I stand by my comment to say it's a dream to be back on sky! It's a massive channel with a massive viewing audience! I need my profile lifting as it's dropped a lot IMO lately! Sky cam hopefully do that!
As for the fight, I think it's a tough match and he comes with credentials! Former European Champion and a dangerous puncher! All signs for a good fight I believe![[icon_wink.gif] ;-)](./images/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif)

Thats fair enough Bomber, agree with you - Theres being loyal to those that are loyal to you, then theres blind loyalty.
Don't let too many people on this internet lark wind you up mate, you could say somethin that could get you in trouble - good luck with the fight and i'll be at the echo

I've burnt no bridges! If anything Im just a little too honest at times an should just sit back and say nothing but I can't and won't! Listen Im fighting April 14th and thats all thats on my mind to be totally honest..
Re: Bellew/Macintosh on Sky Sports
Don't know about "massive" - surely it would be better to be on terrestrial tv, say like channel 5 ?Bomber 1 wrote:I stand by my comment to say it's a dream to be back on sky! It's a massive channel with a massive viewing audience!
Unfortunately, more people have seen Phil Fury fight than you and Cleverly put together.
Re: Bellew/Macintosh on Sky Sports
Phil Fury is shit. Sky we have a tleast 10 times the allegedly audience at least.bripez wrote:Don't know about "massive" - surely it would be better to be on terrestrial tv, say like channel 5 ?Bomber 1 wrote:I stand by my comment to say it's a dream to be back on sky! More people have seen Phul Fury box than have seen Bellew and/or Cleverley box.
Sky has more viewers than Allegedly channel, but they are only a couple of hundred thousand - nothing like the 5 million who watch the boxing on Channel 5.
Re: Bellew/Macintosh on Sky Sports
Where do you get 5million from Chisora v Fury was watched by 3 million since then fights have been around 1.5 to 2million I agree its very good. But a big football match gets that on sky now.bripez wrote:That is the point I am trying to make !leforge wrote:Phil Fury is shit. Looks like someone didn't get the rematch they wanted...
Re: Bellew/Macintosh on Sky Sports
Sorry guys but I have to disagree, as you know myself and Tony have had a few run ins and I was fully against the Clev v Bellew fight, that said Tony proved me wrong on the night and showed a lot of people myself included that he did belong in the same ring as Nathan and did an amazing job (I still feel and always will that Nathan won the fight but Tony put up a warriors performance that evening) Again it does pain me to say this but I would prefer to see Clev v Bellew II than the billed fight. But I have also waited years to see Bellew V Danny Mac for years and think that whilst it lasts it will be a belter of a fight, I wish both fighters good luck and just hope they both are fine at the end as always.Casio wrote:A fight he didn't deserve anyway and now he's crying because he can't have it twice!Final round wrote:Looks like someone didn't get the rematch they wanted...

x2. Have disagreed with Tony on occasion on here but he walked the walk and he proved he belonged in the ring with Nathan and definitely deserves a rematch sooner rather than later.taffytoon wrote:Sorry guys but I have to disagree, as you know myself and Tony have had a few run ins and I was fully against the Clev v Bellew fight, that said Tony proved me wrong on the night and showed a lot of people myself included that he did belong in the same ring as Nathan and did an amazing job (I still feel and always will that Nathan won the fight but Tony put up a warriors performance that evening) Again it does pain me to say this but I would prefer to see Clev v Bellew II than the billed fight. Because it was Nathan Cleverly, what's so special about him???Casio wrote:Why did he deserve the fight??Lenny wrote:Why didn't he deserve the fight?Casio wrote: A fight he didn't deserve anyway and now he's crying because he can't have it twice!
Re: Bellew/Macintosh on Sky Sports
You'll got absolutely nothing to substantiate that claim. In fact, it's far more likely that he learnt a great deal from that fight and it has made him a better boxer as a result.Casio wrote:That was Bomber at his best and it still wasnt enough. Why should he have another crack?
Re: Bellew/Macintosh on Sky Sports
I just think it's important to separate out the two issues:Casio wrote:Re-reading it, i have worded it wrong. Although, my opinion is that it'll take a lot for him to put in a better performance. I hope i'm proved wrong.
1) Did Tony deserve his shot? I think it's an almost unanimous no.
2) However, that's historical past and the fact in terms of the present is that we have two fighters who fought an entertaining and close fight and who want to do it again (I'm sure Clev is happy to go again). The public also want it, so while I agree with you on point 1, it's now redundant to all intents and purposes.
Re: Bellew/Macintosh on Sky Sports
Ah I get it, Nathan Cleverly the 'World Champion'. Who won the vacant title against the dangerous Aleksy Kuziemski and is now defending it against the big hitting Tommy Karpency. Clearly his win against Murat puts him in a different league to Bellew. In no way was it a glorified domestic dust up.Casio wrote:Nothing special really about Cleverly, you're missing the point. What did Bellew actually do before the fight to get him a World Title shot?Lenny wrote:Because it was Nathan Cleverly, what's so special about him???Casio wrote: Why did he deserve the fight??
Got dropped by Ajisafe, Dropped by Mckenzie twice and then was involved in one of the most boring fights in the history of boxing in the rematch. He's struggled at British level and never fought at European, but gets a world title shot and now appears to be crying off to Matchroom over not getting 2 bites of the cherry?
He put on the performance of his life in his hometown against Cleverly and still didn't win. You won't see a better performance than that from Bomber IMO. That was Bomber at his best and it still wasnt enough. Why should he have another crack?
What? The fight was really close? Pah, well he should have won it then. Fancy him not winning, what rubbish (although he didn't deserve the fight in the first place)
A mean, a guy losing a close fight asks for a rematch, is this what it's come to? Get back in line behind Tommy Karpency Bomber! No wonder people like UFC...

I for one appreciate your comments in the posts above, and your honesty, but do you really think your profile has dropped?Bomber 1 wrote:I stand by my comment to say it's a dream to be back on sky! I'd reckon from talking to mates who have only a passing ("..know big name but who is he?" syndrome) interest in boxing that it's risen. Certainly lots now seem to know who you are, even from that original press conference for the first attempted Cleverly fight and especially since the match proper. You've been in Boxing News and Boxing Monthly a lot lately too. I actually think you are "one of the names" on the British boxing scene these days, and deservedly so. Good luck with the prep and the fight...
