Looks like a solid matchup, the guy has a win over Daryl Cunningham back in 2008, so probably more credentialed than Baff anyways.

When is Baff going to fight next.

He beat Daryl Cunningham, not Steve.

Missmatch, Blake will KO Engel, imho. But for Blake's debut in US (if this fight will happen in US) this is right opponent.

But Blake vs Baff is much interesting for me though.

Steve? who's steve?

Edit; Oh...... steve cunningham, right. Daryl Cunningham is and has been in with better fighters than Baff, was the point.

A mismatch? How? Blake is 10-0-1 against domestic Australian competition. Engel 18-5 (15KO) and has fought on Showtime and ESPN. Well done to Blake's team, it'll be a top fight. I believe Baff is injured anyway.

Engel won his first 13 fights, his last 11 have not been as stellar.

Agreed but he's faced far superior competition than Blake at this point in time.

Daryl Cunningham is better than anyone Blake has faced so far and Engel's beaten him. It's about as far from a mismatch as you can get. It's the perfect opponent for Blake to put his toe in the water in relation to American opponents.

He beat Cunningham in 2007. Have a look at some of the nobodies who have beaten Engel since then.

Nobodies? I can only presume you don't follow US boxing that closely. Most of those guys are among the better prospects at the moment. The exception would be Mike Word, which he avenged next fight.

How long ago was that? Five years before Tony Mundine beat him Emile Griffith was World Middleweight Champion. When he fought Mundine he was making up the numbers. Engel has never been a champion.

Huh? How long ago was what? If you're trying to tell me that an American who's 18-5 with 15KO's and has been fighting on ESPN and Showtime isn't a good opponent for an Aussie prospect who's 10-0-1, then you've lost me. Sure Engel's lost to some good fighters, nobody is calling him the second coming of Harry Greb.

His recent form is pretty poor, he has been stopped in three of his last four fights. The win was against a debutant.

A couple of those fights were taken on short notice and like I said, were against some of the better prospects going around. Engel's had plenty of time to prepare for this fight. It'll be competitive. Well done to Blake's team for taking it - definitely a step in the right direction.

I saw some Engel's last fights. I can tell you - Blake must KO or TKO him in 1-4 rounds.
And who is Darryll Cunningham? No disrespect to him, but he is just a local clubfighter mostly. Imho.

Daryll Cunningham is an American super middleweight. Rated no 13 in the USA and high 50s in world ratings.

What do you think now? Caparello 100-91, 100-90, 100-89. Engel did not win a round.

I think it shows just how good Blake can potentially be. Like I said, he was a step up and Blake raised his game. Well done to him.

I did not see the fight either, but as fifteen of Engel's eighteen wins have been by KO Blake may have been treating him with caution.
Better a points win than a KO loss to a shock haymaker.
