No, it's the manager/promoters fault for non-payment and I agree fighters should be protected from this happening but that protection isn't going to happen with silent acceptance of a shit situation. anyway that's just what I'd do if it was me. I had checques bounce a few years ago in just normal work and I kept hounding until I got it but like anyone I would have gone to citzens advice, small claims court etc just to ge it back. feck the person's situation I was working for it's my money give it, even if I don't get work with them again.

There's a clear power differential between promoter/manager and the individual boxer. Most boxers at not calling the shots or at the top of the tree they depend upon working regularly and often depend upon the money; it is not 'pocket money'; it is bill money.

How can any third party, be it the Board or the judicial system possibly get involved unless the alleged wrong party is prepared to put their case in writing? It would open a litigation minefield against that third party if they acted on oral allegations.

If someone wants to work for a person who refuses to pay , writes dud cheques, and generally drags out payment in the hope they can get away with paying ,,, well that someone is a fool , there working for nothing ,

Its been spelt out for those that did'nt know , you must put it in writing to the board , and then seek legal action , , its that simple , and ok the boxer may find himself blackbanned from that promoter , but SO WHAT he aint getting paid anyway , not only that he's considered a throw away worker , and only going to get used and abused anyway .
