Ringside tonight

Post by ed robinson »

Just to say that Amir Khan and Ricky Hatton will be in the studio for the live show at 6 pm tonight with a big feature on Lennox Lewis and some interesting news on the line up on Sky Sports for the coming months.

I'm hearing it could be Johnny Nelson on the left, Adam next to him, Glen on the other side of Adam but set slightly back, and Barry on a stool by himself in the far corner of the room. And the whole panel will be on brand new black leather bar stools.

What is your opinion on Jonny Nelson's presenting and Smith's commentary Ed?

Did Khan expand on the 'massive offer' they've made to the champion for a re-match? Is it more than the 50/50 they've tried before?

Another very good show. Good job Sky!

Ed, after the earlier acrimony, how friendly is Khan with the staff at Sky, like Adam Smith?

Thanks for the kind words. David, you're just saying that because when we played football I made you look like Pele! I had three pro fights - all against guys without a win on their record and I still managed to lose one of those...

DMMA - We've been filming Amir since before the Athens Olympics and he's always been very friendly and approachable. I think he stays out of the business side of things anyway. Almost every boxer I've ever met has been a gentleman - which is one of the many reasons that I love my job.

Hey Michael, I never boxed Howard, luckily for me, although we were both at Battersea boxing club in the early 90's. The first time I sparred with him he gave me two black eyes and I looked like a panda for a week. There were some really good guys in the gym, you'd pay to watch Cham Joof and Anthony Campbell spar. If I hit the bag in your gym it would have been to keep warm! Good luck with the comeback, I've got a lot of time for Phil Jeffries, I'm sure it'll be a great show.
