He lost his fight and then gets put into mandatory position - Only in Boxing.

Not begrudging the guy, but that is a farce.

Seen quite a it of him lately and am more impressed than I used to be - very tidy and able to keep up a good work rate, but he's no Ward and I reckon Carl should do him.

Froch is ranked in the top 5 in the world, which is much higher than the average mandatory challenger. So I fail to see how it is a farce. The IBF should be commended for making a good decision.

Horse,

What world rankings are those? - There are no 'official' world rankings in boxing.

What I do know is that Froch has moved up the IBF rankings from 5 to 1, and this after losing his last fight.

I don't agree with that logic, and i certainly don;t think the IBF should be commended for it.

Ironically here is a quote from your good self when someone asked you a question about Martin Murray when he drew his last fight.

I don't like to raise fighters too high after a loss even if it is a controversial loss.

You're a hypocrite chap.

Froch just came second in the 168 tournament. That’s pretty good going. He should be 2nd or 3rd in the division based on that. A fight with Bute will decide who is number 2 in the division right now.

I want to see Bute-Froch. Anyone who doesn’t???

Hope this one comes off, should be a right barnstormer!

I'd take Froch over Bute any day of the week. Definitely a step up for Bute. Let's hope he doesn't vacate :DDD

I am talking about the consensus rankings for the division. Who on earth would put Froch outside of their top 5? Would you?

I still moved Murray from outside the top 30 to 20th in the rankings.

I don't really care that Froch has been moved up from 5th to 1st, he shouldn't have been so low in their rankings anyway.
Lucian Bute

1. NOT RATED
2. NOT RATED
3. Edwin Rodriguez
4. Arthur Abraham
5. Cark Froch
This is how fightnews has the IBF rankings for this division, which I assume is the old top 5 you are talking about. He is really ranked 3rd not 5th according to these rankings. Abraham is above him who Froch dominated just over a year ago and I don't know who Rodriguez is.

Would you rather Rodriguez or Abraham was made the mandatory challenger?

Carl Froch is the best fighter in the UK. He has fought the very best in his division, how many fighters can say that?

Delighted the IBF have made him mandatory.
