Price gets Sexton and wins = 1 Show
2nd show Price v TBA (No one else around apart form Chisora) wont hava a mandatory for at least six months if chisora gets a beating from Klitschco he will be out for a while possibly a year.
3rd show another voluntary defence not worth watching because who else is out there?
So you put on 3 shows all safe bets for price keeps your contract sweet with Sky keeps you and Price in the driving seat.
Less risk doing it that way than facing Fury in a fight Price may or may not win.
PS You are selling your man short because no way is he getting 100k for his next fight or the one after he will be luckiy if he makes 100 k in his next 3 fights!!!! Especially with you Frank

Re: CMON DAVID PRICE GET SOME BALLS
And the public want to see Price fight everyone apart from Fury? Actually the bottom line is all about money and getting the best money for your fighter which maloney has failed to get for his fighter.Price will fight Sexton and get 30k max and a win ,fight Fury for 3x as much get 100k and a 50/50 fight so what does the public want a 50/50 fight or a foregone conluaion because thats what the Sexton fight is,like the McDermott and Dallas fight wereDeano s wrote:Paint it how ever you want there is a purse bids system for a reason. So thats painting it as it is Price fighting washed up fighters, even though he has beaten Fury everytime they have met I would say 100k and an excellent chance of winning ,didnt want it.

SexySouthPaw wrote:Lets get this in perspective shall we,for years all I have been hearing is how David Price beat up Tyson Fury every time they met in the Amateurs. How Price is the best heavyweight around, well Price and Maloney bottled the fight. How and why?
1.Hennessy offered Price 100k to fight Tyson without a purse bid on Ch5 and Maloney and Price turned it down.
2.Where in this world is David Price going to get money like that at this stage of his career? Never!
3.Maloney hasn't acted in the best interest as Prices manager if he is the Manager,he has acted in his own best interest as a Sky Promoter keeping the fight on sky by boxing a washed up Sam Sexton.
4.If Price confidently beat Tyson every time they met whats the Problem, doesn't matter where or who they fight for,but if Price v Fury was on terrestrial TV it would have gone out to millions and Price as the Great White Hype would be a household name if he won.
5.So by a:turning down a 100k fight;b wont fight a man he has beaten everytime they have met;c is seen by millions, what does Price and Maloney want? Tyson to turn up blind folded with one arm behind his back? Come on Mr Price and Mr Maloney get some balls!

It cut and dry fury ducked price as a boxing fan i wanted to see this but fury has vacated the belts rather than fight price all this they offerd 100 k crap is by the buy they vacated what is difficult to understand about that
Re: CMON DAVID PRICE GET SOME BALLS
Price would ko fury which would cut short the sham he calls a career he knows that his promoter knows it the rest is a damage limitation exercise the sooner the likes of fury and chisora and fraudley are gone the better bored of it all its bollocks .

Re: CMON DAVID PRICE GET SOME BALLS
To be fare to Fury, he's aiming for Wlad isn't he ? He's probably close to it as well, as Wlad will be looking forward to teeing off on another easy mark, and they're running out of target practice lately.
Since the brothers grimm are both feeding off the same dwindling "top ten" list, Tyson will look like a nicely wrapped christmas present. Maybe they'll even look to bash him up twice, like David Haye.
So I doubt Tyson is seriously scared of someone like Price, when he's looking for the Klitchkos ( plus he's shown guts in the ring already ) but his manager probably sees it as an un needed risk, with a bigger Wlad payday looming.
And I doubt Frank is as confident about his man's chances as he makes out - he's looking great lately, knocking over lower level opponents, but he's yet to be gut checked ( unlike Tyson ) and his chin must be a worry too ( the fate of all but a few big punchers ) because he hasn't looked all that sturdy in the amateurs either.

Re: CMON DAVID PRICE GET SOME BALLS
Maybe I'm alone in this, but I don't mind that Fury's steered clear.
He may've been gobbin' off at one stage, but it's clear as day that he's not in the best of places right now.
He's looked progressively diminished in his last 2 outings, almost coming a cropper against the canadian. He's clearly got stability issues at the moment, professional and personal.
As if someone in that predicament should be actively seeking to make a fight against a prospect as dangerous as Price. Talk of a bout with Helenius is equally hard to swallow.
Fury needs to settle and show improvement before he continues at the level he'd reached with the win over Chisora.
It's only right that Price gets to 'rub it in' after the verbal Fury gave it not so long ago, but it is what it is, and I'd rather we didn't see Fury's chin cracked until he's back on track and there's something more than domestic bragging rights on the line.

Re: CMON DAVID PRICE GET SOME BALLS
There's no doubt in my mind that the route Maloney has taken is one that gives him a lot more security regarding Price, his big hope for the future. Whatever anyone says, 100k is BIG OFFER. Interesting that the offer has now been confirmed; some on here said it was not true but now everyone knows the facts.
Also, does anyone else hate it when promoters call other fighters 'chicken' or 'cowards'? It's in extremely bad taste and seemingly doesn't occur to these folk that the person they are insulting is actually someone who participates in an incredibly dangerous sport every day of their working lives. I'm surprised the Board haven't had Maloney in for bringing the sport into disrepute. You'd never get away with that kind of thing it football; it reflects incredibly badly for the sport.

If Hennessey’s offer was going to be the best on the table. Then why didn't he go to purse bids with it? Surely purse bids are the only way to guarantee the best possible wage for each boxer. As the highest bid wins.

Exactly, they are trying to save face now by bandying the 100k offer around when they could have won the purse bids if it was such a fabulous offer.Exoddus wrote:If Hennessey’s offer was going to be the best on the table.
