Well I would suggest that if you dont think that the level of opponents that he has faced in the last year isnt significantly better than the year before then I'd suggest a career in assessing career progression isn't for you...

Lee fought Mamadou Thiam, James Cook, Michael Walker and Troy Lowry. The next year he fought McEwan, Bunema and Vera.

If you dont think the level of opposition that he faced last year isnt better then the level of opposition he faced in 2010 then I think we are going to have to agree to disagree.

You're missing my point entirely - at no point have I been talking about a comparison between last year and the year before. My point is that as far back as 2008 he was already at the stage where he could have been facing fighters of the calibre of McEwan and Bunema, hence the reference to treading water, particularly given the context of his recently announed opponent.
However you attempt to slice and dice it, the fact is that in the past three years his progression has been extremely limited. If you want to draw a comparision, look at the respective rehabilitations of Khan and Mitchell from their losses to Prescott and Katsidis. Those didn't involve years in the wilderness fighting non-entities.
