Re: Tyson Fury v Martin Rogan
Can't believe Rogan mentioned some of the people he's beaten but failed to mention boxrecs Billy Bessey. Disrespectful esp as Billy needs cheering up this week.
Re: Tyson Fury v Martin Rogan
Is this for the Irish title?
Re: Tyson Fury v Martin Rogan
Heard this was close to being signed. Don't know what Rogie has left but on his best night he has what it takes to beat Fury. But does he have a best night. If the undercard is of any quality I'll be there.

I saw the fight between Rogie and Bessy. good scrap it was tooDirk Kelly wrote:Can't believe Rogan mentioned some of the people he's beaten but failed to mention boxrecs Billy Bessey. Disrespectful esp as Billy needs cheering up this week.

Re: Tyson Fury v Martin Rogan
Martin Rogan is a tough man. However he hasn't fought in over a year and is 41 years old now. If he'd got in a fight or two before fighting Tyson Fury then maybe it would be a bit more reputable, but I just struggle to see this as anything but routine for Fury. It's good that Tyson is fighting regularly tho as he is so young but it is obviously disappointing the Price fight isn't happening. However! That fight will be a lot bigger by the end of the year, possibly for a lot more than a British and Commonwealth title.

To think Fury beat Chisora. Look where both are now...

Re: Tyson Fury v Martin Rogan
There have been rumours Tyson has had some personal problems, I don't remember what they related to, but if thats the case then fine, he hasn't lost a fight as a result and yes his career hasn't taken off since he beat Chisora (I'd argue it's gone backwards since that night.) But he can pull it back with some decent performances from now on.yiddo14 wrote:To think Fury beat Chisora. Look where both are now...
Re: Tyson Fury v Martin Rogan
This should be a good scrap.
Rogan is a very determined pressure fighter. I doubt it will go the distance. If Fury wins it will be on youth and fitness alone, not so much boxing ability.

Re: Tyson Fury v Martin Rogan
I reckon Rogie will have seen Fury's last few fight like the rest of us and fancy that he can land the big one on Tyson'n chin and stick him down.

Fury is being left way behind atm
rogan is semi retired

Re: Tyson Fury v Martin Rogan
Fury dropped his titles for a crack at Rogie, who almost contested the WBU heavyweight crown so it seems like a move in the right direction for his world title prospects.

Poor match up. You dont give up 2 titles to fight a 40 year old and claim your moving on up. Balls.

Diabolical fight. Rogan has had his 15 minutes of fame. Surely they could have found a more worthy international opponent? Very, very uninspiring. It's hard to get behind a fight like this. Not impressed.
Re: Tyson Fury v Martin Rogan
Martin Rogan will likely back out.

Whilst some of the fizz has been taken out of it for British fight fans due to the Price purse bids withdrawal etc, there is still a lot of appetite from regular joe soapers in Belfast to see Rogan back in the ring.
Also I think that the Rogan will fancy it more now than in November after seeing Fury rocked and floored in his last two fights.

Re: Tyson Fury v Martin Rogan
I honestly don't mind this fight at all. Rogan can punch which the last two Fury opponents couldn't, and Fury still hit the deck, so Rogie could have Luke over on his arse.

Bang on if anyone was in any doubt about fury ducking price then this proves it he has took an easy option not on at allShadrachSimmo wrote:Poor match up. You dont give up 2 titles to fight a 40 year old and claim your moving on up. Balls.
Re: Tyson Fury v Martin Rogan
Since Chisora fight, Tyson seems to be go backwards in my opinion. I expected him to be pushed on although he is building his record and experience up but sadly being over taken on the hype train by Price and delboy.
Re: Tyson Fury v Martin Rogan
Fury beat Chisora more easily than Vitali or Helenius did.
Fury should be aiming to get a fight with Vitali before he retires. After this Rogan fight he has to get a move on.

Re: Tyson Fury v Martin Rogan
But the version he fought was 20lbs heavier and clearly hadn't trained properly. I don't think that victory indicates he's ready for Vitali.Horse wrote:Fury beat Chisora more easily than Vitali or Helenius did.
