Steeds v Llewelyn

Post by Old bones Ian »

Just been looking at the upcoming fights and see that Michael Steeds v Wayne Llewelyn is on the 11th of September.

Steeds may not be a world beater in the making , but fair play to him taking on Wayne , should be interesting match up this one.

Wayne should win. Steeds is poor.

Good match this one - I hope it is an eliminator for the English title. Llewellyn for me has been cruelly left out of the British/English title picture. If Steeds wins then he deserves to be in the mix for the English title.

Llewellyn will start favourite , and rightly so, If he's going to get anywhere Wayne can't afford to lose this one.

Wayne should win this.. he is a very good boxer, quick hands, southpaw....

However Steeds can punch a bit and Waynes chin is not good

Depends if Wayne is hungry or not.

It could be very one sided or it could be a KO upset win for Steeds.....

I think it could be a good fight, the only worry I have about Steeds is his stamina, in the eight rounder against Francis he seemed to run out of steam after winning the first five rounds.

Not sure what Llewellyn has left either I wasn't overly impressed when I saw him he seemed devoid of ideas

I do believe, that was alot of his downfall vs Gammar aswell. Although perhaps I'm wrong as I never saw the fight.

Steeds is still relatively new to the pro game despite the solid opponents he's been in with, so will hopefully keep improving.

Was looking forward to this one especially with the Area title on the line, but apparently the fight's off according to Llewellyn.

Speaking to Colin Kenna last night in the pub and he said his Irish title fight had fallen through but as Steeds has pulled out he will now be fighting Llewellyn on Nov 8th.

Anyone know if this is definately the case?

If it is what is your predictions? I know Colin hates him espically after the shit he gave Colin after his win over Francis. If Colin can get fit it should be a cracking fight.

michael grant is also on the bill allong with paul bowen who is making a comeback.

kreshnick qato is also boxing so it should be a sell out.

Michael Grant? You surely don't mean the former world title challenger heavyweight?

Llewelyn has appeared on undisputed heavyweight champ Gene Pukall's card in Germany this Saturday.

Don't know how watertight this is, but a few rounds against a "limited" opponent may do Llewelyn some good and shake of a bit of rust before the Kenna fight in a month's time. (note to self: maybe that's why he's doing it ergo. )

Colin Kenna has pulled out of the fight with Llewellyn due to an elbow injury, hopefully Steeds will now come back into the picture

Can't believe Colin has pulled out. Soneone told me he was out on the beer on Friday and I started to have my doubts then I got a text last night saying Colin is playing in goal for us on Thursday night. Then I knew it was off.

Can't see a way back for Colin now even if its a genuine injury.

It was never on. Llewellyn was meant to fight Kenna for the Southern Area title, Kenna pulled out injured so they tried to get Steeds to fight instead, but Steeds apparently priced himself out of the fight so Llewellyn will not now fight tonight.

Card has Michael Grant, Adrian Dodson, Kreshnick Qato.

I believe there are eight fights.

Dodson wasn't on teh card.

Grant was jobbed, he was down in the second caught by hook as he slipped, I still had him winning easily but the ref scored it a draw. He was meant to fight Mikitas at 10-2 but Mikitas weighed in at 10-7.5 so the whole card had to be re-arranged.

haven't seen much of grant recently. How's he coming on? He was lightning fast in the amateurs. Also working as an electrician if I remembe right.
