Yes, but this isn't "real life" though is it? This is the world of boxing where it is quite common for two prospective opponents to mouth off and square off against each other at press conferences in the interests of promoting a fight. For all Chisora's crazy antics, he has never, to my knowledge, punched or injured in any way a fellow boxer outside of the ring. There is no evidence to suggest he was about to hit David Haye.taffytoon wrote: Let's be honest DC is walking towards DH and as he is approaching him takes his coat off, now in real life anyone who has threatened to give someone a slap and then takes his jacket off as he is walking towards said person is just asking for trouble. There was more chance of DH damaging his own hand in with the bottle in reality. I think both are out of order

Re: I wonder if Adam Booth
He last spat in Wlad's face for god sake. Get real, whatever the situation if a guy says he's gonna slap you, walks that far and squares up like that you are well within your rights to take pre-emptive action and smack him. Self defence plain and simple. Bottle in hand is irrelevant, Haye didn't use that as a weapon but the fact he didn't discard it shows how imminent he felt an attack from Chisora was.
Charles then tried to get retribution going after Haye, no way was he conducting himself properly at all, and Haye gave him a few in defence too. Haye was the only one to take a backwards step, so get real. Charles should have been looking after Chisora, wherever he wobbled off to, cause that was his only role at the melee.
They were all talking about Haye and he replied, why were they talking about Haye vs Wlad at the Vitali v Chisora presser in the first place? You can't expect him to keep quiet, especially given that he was clear saying he's agreed everything and the fight still isn't made.

Well, the cut on his head meant that he didn't need to use the blood capsule. This is not the WWE.rhino222 wrote:i am hearing that Adam Booth was seen with a blood capsule seconds before the event!! ...

You're making the same mistake of comparing this stuff to normal life. This is not you and me in the pub, this is two professional boxers at a press conference. It is not unusual for boxers to threaten to harm one another - but they very rarely do so outside of the ring. I repeat: Chisora has never punched or injured a fellow boxer outside of the ring. The antics he's indulged in at press conferences are just WWF-type stunts. I don't particularly like them, but no-one has been injured.sharpei_louis wrote:He last spat in Wlad's face for god sake. If I am Haye and I see that pudendum coming towards me, with everything that was said/done previously over the last few days, believe me I am hitting him hard.

Nah mate, it's you making the mistake of pretending is kind of crap, spitting in people's faces and slapping people, is OK and insignificant. Yeah boxers at weigh ins and pressers go and square up, but they don't march off the stage to confront someone who is effectively in the audience, and even if they do, more often than not they do end in scuffles and fights.nobby_nobbins wrote:You're making the same mistake of comparing this stuff to normal life. Chisora appears never to have injured anyone in or out of the ring, but that doesn't mean Haye has to let him march up and spit in his face or slap him. You're talking nonsense. What I am saying is that Haye was justified in hitting Chisora. 'this isn't real life' is just a bizarre angle to make it Haye's fault. You could equally be saying 'boxers hit other boxers all the time, so it's not real life and Haye is fully ok to hit him' but you're not. You reckon it's normal for a boxer to spit in the face of his oppositions cornermen in the ring before the fight? Behave.

Hey, don't go using a real life example, that's not allowed. If Chisora punched haye in the presser that's allowed cause Haye won't be injured and we all know it's all pretend anyway.bripez wrote:That is true - unless you count him beating his bird up ..................nobby_nobbins wrote:For all Chisora's crazy antics, he has never, to my knowledge, punched or injured in any way a fellow boxer outside of the ring.

If I was in Haye's position I'd have done exactly the same.
Re: I wonder if Adam Booth
David Haye didn't do much wrong IMO. Lets be fair, he wasn't the first person to mention his name in the press conference.
He clearly wants to fight Vitali and Booth being present also indicates team Haye still want it (Booth has said in the past he should stick to his retirement). If Bonte wants nothing to do with Haye he should mention him.
Haye spoke nothing about Chisora, just about him and Vitali fighting.

Finally, someone see's it for what it was. There's so many differing opinions over this it beggers belief. A proven madman approached Haye, pressed his head to his head, put his fist to his chin, and people have a problem with Haye clocking him???? The fact he was holding a bottle at the time is whats causing most of the controversy, but he had no real time to evaluate the situation, otherwise i'm certain he would have gotten rid of the bottle beforehand.sharpei_louis wrote:He last spat in Wlad's face for god sake. Re: I wonder if Adam Booth
I think both of them acted deplorably but I think Chisora was worse. His conduct over the last few days has been nothing short of an absolute disgrace. Slapping Vitali, spitting water in Wlad's face and then starting a brawl with Haye and after being hit threatening to shoot and burn Haye! What an utter moron.
As for Haye, I can see why he punched Chisora. Chisora approached him in a very threatening manner, took off his jacket, got in Haye's face and in my view Haye was within his rights to give Chisora a punch. However, he went to far in then picking up a tripod and smacking people across the head with it and arguably he should not have been in the press conference in the first place.

What are you on about - my comment was with reference to an earlier post (quoted).
As Chisora was found guilty of beating up his girlfriend, are you suggesting that we should never mention this ?

Re: I wonder if Adam Booth

To say Haye threw the first punch is a bit misleading I think...
Re: I wonder if Adam Booth
Chisora "miked" him.
Re: I wonder if Adam Booth
Can't believe people are actually defending haye.

I would have shot him or indeed burned him...
Chisora and his team got smashed and deservedly so.

i was a big fan of Haye at Cruiser but lost pretty much all respect for him when he moved to HW. Disrespecting the K-Bros, The audley joke, rape comment, performance vs Wlad & subsequent toe excuse, retiring, and taking up acting classes.
Gotta say though, giving Del his just deserts he won me back a little and showed he's still the fierce fighter he was at Cruiser. His appearance at the press confrence was Ali style heckling, a bit of panto in my opinion. Del clearly has a short fuse and chose to get out of his seat to go confront him, with his entourage behind him, and took his jacket off on the way.
From a guy who his history of pulling some sort of a stunt in every face off he's been in, nonoe more publicised than the slap on vitali, and the photo above shows he's at the very least rubbing his fist into Hayes face.
Was good to see Haye throw that combo, and Del Boys trainer got what he deserved, he clearly threw a punch at Haye as Haye & Chisora grappled to the floor, and then went for him again after Haye got back to his feet, before being hit by another 1-2. Moron, what did he think would happen trying to fight a recent HW world champion?
I'm all for a Haye-Chisora bout now, and will be firmly rootin for Haye. It's pretty clear though neither are worthy contenders of either brother, without praying to father time for a favour.
Re: I wonder if Adam Booth
Not turned up to the press conference with the sole aim of causing trouble and not not hit someone in the face with a bottle.JDC wrote:What would you have done?mrbassie wrote:Can't believe people are actually defending haye.
EDIT: On second thought, if I was Haye I would have run around in circles and flopped onto the floor over and over again, especially considering Wlad was in the room.

Haye punched Chisora while he was holding the bottle.
