looking at the way Haye was carrying himself he looked more like the Gung Ho cruiseweight version who took risks. He has that fire in him again. either that or he is a good actor but if we get THAT haye back then i will want to watch

Did he never say he was going to splatter Harrison, Valuev and Klitchsko. He always has said he is going to "bring it too them" and go for it..... his heavyweight career has flattered to deceive.

I do think Chisora is perfect for him style wise.... small, come forward, no punch. Haye has more snap and speed in his punches that the version of Vitali who fought Chisora.... I cannot see Chisora being able to slip them. I think Haye and I think Haye early.

But Haye will lose convincingly to either Klitchsko.

He lost to Wlad, but neither Wlad nor Haye were very convincing. Wlad put on as much of a stinker as he did.

Haye will probably arrange an appointment to meet with the police. While this happens it still keeps the potential fight in the press and will sell more tickets.

May fight filling Wembley Arena with the winner fighting Vitali subject to them both staying out of jail
Fight won't happen. Chisora will get a year ban minimum
You think, I don't think it'd be fair to give him any more than a fine. Hide did worse at ringside at the Harrison fight and wasn't banned.
Hide got attacked by Harrison's security staff, only thing he did was push back at some woman who pushed him off a chair.

Besides which, Chisora has a growing list of things, all of which would come with a ban, considering he got 4 months previous for biting:

Conviction for assaulting a woman (never dealt with by Board)
slapping Vitali
Spitting at Wladimir
Brawl with Haye
Threatening to shoot Haye

The guy is totally out of control. What's more this all happened when he was representing Board and Great Britain in a foreign country.

Plus the German Federation has requested the Board give Chisora a life ban.

If he's lucky, he gets 12 months.

Ammunition for abolitionists?

Post by nobby_nobbins »

I think the idea that boxers brawling at press conferences gives ammunition to those who seek to ban boxing is plain ridiculous. People who hate boxing refuse to distinguish boxing matches from street fights anyway, so the idea of banning a fighter for fighting is just comical to them.

He might change his mind if Vitali retires, this shoulder injury is now being likened to the rotator cuff injury he got against Byrd, that will take ages to heal if its true and
he may well call it a day, although it did not seem to be hanging like Byrd so perhaps its nothing like that and it may just be talk to try and ward off any negative reports on his performance.

The two boys are really going to regret there row if this is the case as the vacant title fight would have quite possibly been Haye and Chisora but both are looking at lengthy bans and the WBC won't have Chisora anywhere near there title for a good while and probably the same with Haye.

If F rank Warren means that, then I'm Sugar Ray Leonard!!! :P

I bet he'd be the first guy willing to promote such a fight, especially if it was for a world title belt, although neither deserves a shot just shot, as Chisora is 0-3 in his last 3 & Im not sure if David's toe is fully healed yet ( ), although that might not matter, as Haye has gone all ' Lord Lucan' and disappeared anyway.

To be fair i did say to myself halfway through that fight that i bet vitali has just injured himself, the robots jab just stopped altogether, would be a pity to see it end his career.

Klitchsko is out for 7 months....... that explains ALOT about why he was content to fight on the back foot and only throw arm punches..... it put the fight and performance into a whole new perspective.

Klitshcko clearly beat Chisora with one hand. Helenius might not be no where near as good, but at least he had two working arms.

The huge opportunity missed by David Haye

Post by davie »

What a real shame the last couple years have been

Haye had a real opportunity a couple years ago.

the Klitchkos were widely considered to be boring, they were said to be killing heavywieght boxing with their domination of the division and the manner of that domination, the way they hand picked opponents, the way they negotiated their deals and set up for fights, the conservative style of fighting, particularly from wladimir

Haye was seen and a charismatic character that could add a bit of excitement to the division. People liked his fighting style when he was a cruiser wieght and the guy had a bit of the arrogance anda liking for the showbusiness side of things that we all like to see in a top fighter

Now after stumbling from one embarrasment to another, the prematch boasts and harrasment of both brothers (the beheading t-shirt), the post match excuses (toe-gate), the performance in the fight itself and now getting enbroiled in this carry on in someone elses post match press conference. For all derek has acted like a thug before, during and after his big shot, david has eclipsed even his stupidity, he shouldn't have been there and from the various replays i've seen of the brawl, david starts it, david twice uses a weapon, david brawls with chisora and his trainer, then he dissapears into the night to evade capture

now, with the throughly unproffesional chisora and even tyson fury (although he isn't guilty of behaving nearly as badly as the first 2, he's just a bit of a nugget), boxing fans, in britain particularly, have realised, that given the choice between the supposedly dull, boring, yet thoroughly proffesional kings of the heavywieght division and the "excitment" provided by britains heavywieght leading thugs, in recent times we'd rather give overdue credit to the ukrainians who have deservedly ruled the sport for almost a decade.

lets hope david price can deliver on his early promise as he appears to be the only top brittish heavywieght with an ounce of professionalism and dignity....
