I'm not convinced Vitali and Wlad are quite the gents
I'm not convinced Vitali and Wlad are quite the gents
What a weekend of shame; the sport is on the front pages and for all the wrong reasons.
Chisora and Haye both acted wothout thought or restraint. The only ones to come out with any credit are the two champion brothers.
BUT, why was Wlad in the Chisora dressing room before the bout unles to unerve and disrupt Chisoras' mind set?
Why was Wlad in Chisoras face immediatley before the bout?
The 2 brothers faced Chisora and his team in an aggressive manner, inside the ring, after the bout had finished. I thought that it may have gone off then.
Chisora acted a chump, so did Haye; I'm not convinced that Vitali and Wlad are the first class gents they are made out to be though.

Re: I'm not convinced Vitali and Wlad are quite the gents
Wlad was checking the wraps, he is a member of the corner team so nothing stopping him. They always do the checking for the other brother. Chisora should have been ready for it like Haye said on allegedly that night. If you watch Chisora goes over to Vitalis corner so if Wlad gets in his face then it is fair enough. Boente is the worst part of K2. He was the catalyst and just sat back and watched the shit hit the fan.
Re: I'm not convinced Vitali and Wlad are quite the gents
I thought the handwrapping was generally witnessed by the other trainer.
It's been said that Wlad cut a memacing figure in the changing room; staring at Chisora etc.

Re: I'm not convinced Vitali and Wlad are quite the gents
Only in the UK could you have a suggestion that the Klit brothers instigated anything here.
I give up.
I give up.
Re: I'm not convinced Vitali and Wlad are quite the gents
Steady on; I'm not saying the brothers caused the fight and commotion at the post fight pres conference.
Some of the posting about the brothers has been too deferential. The 2 may have been guilty of 'mind games' as someone else said; those mind games could've been seen as threatening and intimidating. The in ring post fight confrontations looked like getting out of hand.
Chisora and Haye didn't need any help to kick off.

Well, Chisora has a past record of confrontations pre fight.... Klitchsko's haven't.palooka wrote:Steady on; I'm not saying the brothers caused the fight and commotion at the post fight pres conference.

They're 6 foot 7.... and in great shape..... going to look pretty intimidating even if they are singing the tune of button moon.

So fornicating what? Its a boxing match!!!!
This whole situation has shown up quite a few folk on here as copmplete idiots, some supporting that absolute fanny Haye and others supporting the mentally ill Chisora but for you to denigrate the only two people to come out of this without shame is quite disturbing, to say the least.

Blimey, do you reckon some fighters put on a persona for the public?
No way, i was out horse riding with Chris Eubank yesterday and he said this never happens.

They without doubt break their opponents down with mind games, do I think they take the moral high ground from time to time yeah I do, lets not forget the ring walk incident before the Haye fight and the way they make their opponents hang around the ring for ages making them get cold after warming up.
I've got to admit though the self control in the face of such provocation is admirable but as Wlad has said in the past if you go through the Ukrainian army like they did you get broken down on a daily basis.
Tough guys.

No, I agree palooka - they definitely aren't what they portray - PR is invested in heavily IMO
Re: I'm not convinced Vitali and Wlad are quite the gents
I'm not a complete idiot; Haye and Chisora went way overboard AND there was little control or security. There didn't seem to that much in the ring post fight either.DaveBoyMorrison wrote:palooka wrote:I thought the handwrapping was generally witnessed by the other trainer.

I've not 'denegrated' either brother but have asked questions re their conduct and behaviour and whether that contrbuted the overall atmosphere. The brothers may hae used mind games etc in the past with no apparent reaction from their opponents. The brothers are obviously above question to some.

Mind games are a part of boxing; trying to get into an opponents head to gain an advantage hardly precludes someone from being a 'first class' gentleman.
There are several posters who believe that the Klits are always putting on an act. What would it take for these posters to be convinced otherwise?

Re: I'm not convinced Vitali and Wlad are quite the gents
Also, Chisora aggresively approached both the Klitschkos immediatly before and instigated the pre-fight conflict with Vitali; it was not the other way around as you suggest in your original post.palooka wrote:I'm not a complete idiot; Haye and Chisora went way overboard AND there was little control or security. See for yourself: As soon as Vitali enters the ring Chisora confronts him, Chisora walks up to Wlad and spits in his face, and Chisora reacts hostily when Vitali shakes his hand following the bout. It's unreasonable to blame the Klitschkos for any of these confrontations, or a press conference brawl that did not involve them.

Re: I'm not convinced Vitali and Wlad are quite the gents
He hardly turned up in the other dressing room and started pushing Chisora around, did he?
Both Klitschkos are top guys. Maybe when Vitali is president of Ukraine you might give him some credit

Re: I'm not convinced Vitali and Wlad are quite the gents
Because Ukrainan politics has a great history of having fantastic, straight dealing and genuine people involved? Yes, the president of the Ukraine deserves the same respect as the president of Turkmenistan or Burma.
Re: I'm not convinced Vitali and Wlad are quite the gents
Face it some people are never going to give them credit. Chisora spitting was the worst thing he did.gobbles wrote:He hardly turned up in the other dressing room and started pushing Chisora around, did he?
