Matthews v Crolla
Re: Matthews v Crolla
Re: Matthews v Crolla
crolla's not been landing the hurtful shots in recent bouts and his career seems to be losing momentum.
he's already been this route, knocking out scousers (john watson) which i think he'll do again.
matthews has looked vulnerable to head and body & many think he's ready to go. crolla is a sharp boxer who should get the stoppage win. matthews is a good, awkard boxer but this is crolla's time, surely.
not meaning any disrespect, but matthews seems to have a lot of lives. obviously there will be pressure for derry to perform, so hopefully a memorable fight - both guys have been in a couple of those, before.

I am not agreeing or disagreeing with you mate, but it would help the debate if you gave your thoughts as to why you think Matthews will win (trying to avoid another scouse cliche "he will come back stronger" if possible)

Re: Matthews v Crolla
I think Matthews' reach will give Crolla pause for thought early but he'll keep digging the body and wear him down. either points decision pulling away in hte late rounds, or late stoppage. IMO.

I like Crolla but i genuinley believe Derry has the skills to beat him hes a big lightweight I dont think Crollas power is up to much were as Derry has stopped 4 opponents since moving up to lightweight (obviously not of crollas level but still shows for something) even gavin rees said he got caught by a straight right in the fight which stopped him in his tracks, also people questioning Derrys durability hes only been down vs Marsili as a lightweight (Prizefighter was at SFW) and i think this move to Scotland will do him well look how good a change served him just over 2 years ago and i believe this set up will have the same results!
Re: Matthews v Crolla
Mathews should retire for his own health, he has taken some bad beatings, everytime he steps up he seems to take a lot of punishment, he has had good career, maybe it is time to do something else for the sake of himself and his family.leforge wrote:This fight is scheduled for April 21st. Re: Matthews v Crolla
You don't no me to judge me and doesn't everyboxer prepare to be in a tough fight and most get a beating , my health is good am a 28 year old not a 35 year old , and if I didn't think my health was good I would walk away and have got a team who would tell me to walk away , I have had a good run bought houses and a business so if you think am doing this for cash you need to think again , trust me April 21 people might get a shock but to me it will just be another win against a blown up featherweightsafeerah wrote:Mathews should retire for his own health, he has taken some bad beatings, everytime he steps up he seems to take a lot of punishment, he has had good career, maybe it is time to do something else for the sake of himself and his family.leforge wrote:This fight is scheduled for April 21st. Good luck Derry
, I do like the look of Crolla good boxer who throws lots of shots, but I also think Derry is a top boxer, who has the reach advantage, and has an excellent jab and decent power, should be a great fight, may the best man win.

Re: Matthews v Crolla
should be a nice work out for crolla, will be abit to much for matthewsi feel who if loses mayb should go back into retirement permantly, i think a good fight will be if crolla and rees both win meet for the european belt and then face winner of burns and mitchell providing burns comes through moses.

derry has a good boxing brain on him,he can fight this fight long if need be and keep crolla at the end of his jab,i believe derry can win this if he fights his fight, he fights crolla's fight and i think crolla wins, derry is a class boxer and come fight night win, lose or draw crolla will know he has been in a fightbripez wrote:There we go again !! .......cocobongo wrote:We will seeyoungrell wrote: Fiercely loyal/blind!

We where offered Crolla a yr or so ago and refused the bout, Derry never as he'd fight anyone anywhere but i had a say in who he fought and for me it was too much of an ask, other people involved also thought the same this fight is about one thing only.fasteddie wrote:derry has a good boxing brain on him,he can fight this fight long if need be and keep crolla at the end of his jab,i believe derry can win this if he fights his fight, he fights crolla's fight and i think crolla wins, derry is a class boxer and come fight night win, lose or draw crolla will know he has been in a fightbripez wrote:There we go again !! .......cocobongo wrote: We will see

Strange Crolla was thought of to big an ask over a year ago when he would of probably only had 1 fight at lightweight but didnt see a former world champ in rees was to big an ask??boxingfarmer30 wrote:We where offered Crolla a yr or so ago and refused the bout, Derry never as he'd fight anyone anywhere but i had a say in who he fought and for me it was too much of an ask, other people involved also thought the same this fight is about one thing only.fasteddie wrote:derry has a good boxing brain on him,he can fight this fight long if need be and keep crolla at the end of his jab,i believe derry can win this if he fights his fight, he fights crolla's fight and i think crolla wins, derry is a class boxer and come fight night win, lose or draw crolla will know he has been in a fightbripez wrote: There we go again !! .......

Rees was in my opinion the weakest of the top four mitchell, murray and crolla. Also the money was good and gave derry a higher rating if he'd of won.cocobongo wrote:Strange Crolla was thought of to big an ask over a year ago when he would of probably only had 1 fight at lightweight but didnt see a former world champ in rees was to big an ask??boxingfarmer30 wrote:We where offered Crolla a yr or so ago and refused the bout, Derry never as he'd fight anyone anywhere but i had a say in who he fought and for me it was too much of an ask, other people involved also thought the same this fight is about one thing only.fasteddie wrote: derry has a good boxing brain on him,he can fight this fight long if need be and keep crolla at the end of his jab,i believe derry can win this if he fights his fight, he fights crolla's fight and i think crolla wins, derry is a class boxer and come fight night win, lose or draw crolla will know he has been in a fight
