Your long run should not be more than 25% of your total mileage. So if you are going to run a 10 mile long run, you really should doing 40 miles a week.

Don't bother with intervals unless you are a fairly experienced runner. Right now your effort should be focused on just getting miles in, especially if you are training for a half. If you were going for a 5k I would probably tell you to throw some speed in. Right now you want to build strength, and the only way to do that is to put in miles. Otherwise you are going to be doing the run a mile, walk a mile thing when your race is. If you actually want to run the whole thing, getting stronger should be your focus.

Mines is one of the lower end GPS forerunners. Cant remember the model number.
I have a 305. What model do you have cos virtual partner has been around for a while. You need to go into history and save the run as a course, then you can run against your previous performances.

Mines is a Forerunner 110, seems to be the most basic of them all.
Tells me distance, time and heart rate. Thats about it.

Stupidly I just purchased the first one i seen at a decent price instead of looking into it in more detail, its always been something i never seen the point in to be honest and now i have one i love it. Definitely makes you push yourself more knowing you can compare your efforts etc. Good to see on a chart where you slacked off and where you were flying. lol
