Was the unification rule of having three defences beforehand, dropped?
Ali v Dempsey was a true unification fight, but has been shadowed by the Jeffries win which didn't fit the usual criteria.
Boys....
Re: Boys....
Jbacca, it's a call I made totaly based on bringing this season to an ultimate "winner". So yes I veered from the course only because of the upcoming finish line.jBacca wrote:Was the unification rule of having three defences beforehand, dropped?

Each fighter did genuinely own their title, and were willing to face each other...so it was allowed.
If it is deemed sensible, we can go into week 41 with a grand unification since it is obviously attainable at this point....though not within the 40k week limit.
It was impulsive...and if it considered bad form, I offer up an apology. But the act...for better or worse is done at this point. It does leave a possibility of a dark horse winner ....someone outside the super six could walk away with week 41. Maybe not the worst thing that could happen I suppose.
Re: Boys....
No apologies required, Buzz. I anticipated the Ali-Dempsey winner to be the man who finally unified after a long season, and so was surprised and slightly disappointed to notice Jeffries had unified as well.BoxBuzz wrote:Jbacca, it's a call I made totaly based on bringing this season to an ultimate "winner". If the ruling was made, then that's that.
Re: Boys....
Yes it was dropped by Tzyuforever in the thread he created called unification:jBacca wrote:Was the unification rule of having three defences beforehand, dropped?

The two remaining belts can also unify at any time.
Me and BoxBuzz just decided to keep it like that in accordance with TF's wishes.jBacca wrote:Ali v Dempsey was a true unification fight, but has been shadowed by the Jeffries win which didn't fit the usual criteria.
