So how much out of $500,000 payday will Chisora actually get in his pocket, i mean after fines, tax, fees etc.
i think around $100,000
i think around $100,000
Re: Chisora banned by WBC and face serious fine!
How very righteous of the WBC to have come out this strongly for a press conference scuffle. Hmmm, what about Mike Tyson going mental at Lennox before the fight and screaming all sorts of homophobic stuff at members of the audience. Or How did they punish him for committing rape? Oh yeah, they made him the number one ranked contender.
How about Floyd, what punishment is their champ facing for assaulting a women, his ex, mother of his children? Oh thats right, Jose came out in support of Floyd.
Joke

Toby, was just about to say the same thing. Tyson fought for a WBC belt AFTER the Holyfield ear incident, a rape conviction, and all that despicable pre-Lennox behaviour.
If Chisora was a bigger draw, he'd have gotten away with it. Not condoning Chisora's behaviour but this is double standards at its worst!

Re: Chisora banned by WBC and face serious fine!
I'm inclined to think "so what".
So he can't fight for the WBC title. Was that ever an option? I don't think Vitali is particularly interested in a rematch, so it's a bit of a hollow gesture.
And he's removed from their rankings. Oh no, it's not as if there's a number of other bodies who'll include him in their versions of the truth.
And were he to do something that makes Vitali want I fight him, I can't see Jose turning down a request from the Klits and Boente, so it's all a bit of irrelevant grandstanding.

There isn't only Tyson (toby).... look at how the WBC gifted Margarito, a mexican, a shot at the vacant Light Middleweight title post the plaster incident.

I suppose the difference between Tyson & Chisora are the size of the sanctioning fees for their respective fights.
The sanctioning fees for a Tyson fight dwarf those of a Chisora fight, therefore the WBC would only have spited themselves by rightfully banning Tyson, who behaved even worse than the dreadful Chisora.

Maybe that German guy shouldn't of settled with them and let them go bankrupt!
Why did some fans in the community plead with him to settle? I thought the fans wanted less belts!

Love the fact that Don Jose is insisting that someone gets anger management training...his toys come out of the pram in spectacular style at every WBC convention, don't they?

indeed, chisora holds no weight, hes not a big draw, so its nothing really lost and they gain some good publicity by taking such heavy handed action.Syntax Error wrote:Spot on.tobyh5 wrote:How very righteous of the WBC to have come out this strongly for a press conference scuffle. this stinks, and everyone knows it does. Chisora probably has more credability with me than any of the 4 stinking corrupt bodies.

Re: Chisora banned by WBC and face serious fine!
If the WBC want to say that chisora cant fight for their title ever again then thats their perogative and theres always other titles , but if the BBBoC ban Chisora for any more than a short term suspension then it will be a hypocrytical joke .
Chisora has got more people talking about boxing than there has been in a long time , so while i dont condone his actions hes actually boosted interest , hes not the first and wont be the last to brawl in a press conference , if they ban him then they are setting an alarming precedent in my view , the fact he didnt throw the first punch should in my view favour him in any judgement , and in the same token haye throwing the first punch was what he considered self defence following chisoras previous antics so he shouldnt be banned either , a fine and maybe a 28 day suspension would be perfectly good punishment in my view .
What Margarito did was far worse and yet hes fought since , if you go along the lines of what other punishments have been then i feel even a 6 month ban would be extremely harsh

Re: Chisora banned by WBC and face serious fine!
I find the "boxers are gentlemen" comment by sulaiman ridiculous. At the end of the day its two people having a fight with the intention of rendering the opponent unconscious by repeatedly hitting them in the head.
So whats a little slap and a facefull of water in the grand scheme of things...
Chisora has given something to talk about..whether you want him to lose or win, there would be far more interest in a rematch with vitali or a fight with haye, than there was in the first fight.
I want to see good guys and bad guys go at it, its boring watching goody goody clones, i want to see some excitement and tension building up.
Chisora has put himself as the no1 UK heavyweight at the moment, it would be madness for the bbbc to now go and ban him.

Re: Chisora banned by WBC and face serious fine!
Wow, I think this will really hurt Chisora,
It not just the WBC, but I’m guessing he’s banned from participating for the WBC interim, emeritus, diamond, silver, international and youth belts too.
All then avenues of opportunity are now slammed firmly shut, poor bloke.
If I was him I would politely reframe from paying the sanction fee and related fines, what is to stop him?

Dont know if WBC can then claim from BBBoC but i cant imagine so , maybe they could persue Del Boy in court but would it be worth the effort so i suppose not paying his sanctioning fee would rule him ineligible for a shot at their title .Kit wrote:Wow, I think this will really hurt Chisora,

Re: Chisora banned by WBC and face serious fine!
To be fair though, fair WBC (I know a contradiction)..... I think the WBC will lift the suspension after the BBBoC have dealt with a punishment. I have a hunch there will be some kind of supension delt with him as part of the BBBoC punishment.... and following the completion of that the WBC will say "he's served his time.... back in the rankings".
This was their stance with Tyson and Margarito - even though it was madness having Tyson as #1 contender the day he said foot out of jail.
I personally think it is only the WBC pre-empting the BBBoC. So I think we need to wait until after his punshment from the BBBoC before really saying their being hypocritical.
WBC like to act fast these days..... e.g. them ruling Hopkins vs Dawson 1 a no contest before the commision confirmed it.

Re: Chisora banned by WBC and face serious fine!
When can somebody ban the WBC from boxing?
Re: Chisora banned by WBC and face serious fine!
Only repeating what I said on current scene
And maybe he got what he deserved when Haye chinned him...
Chisora is an idiot, there's no doubt about that. And all this macho behaviour of his (undoubtedly done to create a "I'm a badass" persona for himself) has brought boxing into disrepute.Crease wrote:Neither do I. Although frankly I'm glad to see it because Chisora's behaviour has been disgraceful. The only thing that his actions have achieved is bringing negatvie publicity to the sport of boxing.

He's 100% getting a ban from the BBBofC, question is how long is enough.

Yeah no more than that hopefully , but a year could affect Chisora's performance he came in at his heaviest against Fury after nearly a year outleforge wrote:6 months to a year cant be longer.Final round wrote:He's 100% getting a ban from the BBBofC, question is how long is enough.
