George Foreman vs. Lennox Lewis
George Foreman vs. Lennox Lewis
What if prime George Foreman had to face off against prime Lennox Lewis??
Who wins and why?
Who wins and why?
Forman would be beaten by following boxers:walshb wrote:If Rahman could KO Lewis, George would blow him away. Foreman at his peak was simply devestating and nobody in history could beat him except Ali.......
Mike Tyson - combo punching, compact and speed that Forman had never ever seen in he's career. I thought Frazier in there second bout could have Ko-d Forman but he failed to follow up his leads, I saw Forman in real trouble and easy to hit.. Tyson would have finished the job.
Larry Holmes - perfect style for Forman. Look how fast he moved away from Tyson punches.. slow Forman never catches this CAT and eats jab's followed up by slow painfull death of a TKO.
Cassius Clay
Evander Holyfield - with a good chin... im sure he would find a way.. there is no way that Forman outpoints Evander. Forman had a good stamina but so did Evander.
Louis - well.. smart, powerfull, fast and whatever ..
Lennox Lewis - Slow George has only a punchers chance against Lennox.. though it's a good puncher's chance.. I think that Lennox could defenetely win this if he fight's smart and run's everytime there unease or some danger involved.
> there's more.. but who cares..
Anyway.. I think Forman is a good HOF- but against people who knew how to box and deliver n followup punches he would do badly. First I saw Forman fight I was amazed how f***g slow and easy to hit this guy is... and not the powerhouse you make him to be here. Lennox overhand right would have made a big difference. He's power is also overrated or he just can't deliver clean punch most of the times... Lennox would have had a field day in the ring or it would have been a ko-d fast .. but if enybody knew how to hide hi's chin it was Lennox.
Some facts Force some of your assertions to stretch a bit.
Old Foreman hung in there with a Prime Holy though granted was soundly defeated.
Foreman destroyed Frazier twice. But Mike does much better than both an unsuspecting and a well prepared Frazier? Hard to imagine but maybe.
Foreman may have had good defensive skills all along but did not need them until he got older. But his Jab later on was pretty well schooled.
These taken together make it harder to buy a Lennox win over Foreman.
But like I said earlier you and George both agree on this.

You are definitely biased with your picks man.ringsider wrote:Foreman in his prime destroys Lewis. Forman had power and the inner rage. Lewis had no chin and no heart. Lewis goes to sleep....goodnite Lennox!!
I too think Lennox loses but to say that he had no heart or no chin.
Kinda like Larry Holmes having a girly right hand.
IMO the only way anyone could beat George is to set him up for a KO by tricking him or something (Ali) or just flat out outboxing him.cultus wrote:Forman would be beaten by following boxers:walshb wrote:If Rahman could KO Lewis, George would blow him away. Cassius Clay- well.. nothing.. Forman is too dumm.. it was really humiliating to watch how Ali beat him the first time.
Evander Holyfield - with a good chin... im sure he would find a way.. there is no way that Forman outpoints Evander. Forman had a good stamina but so did Evander.

Slugging it out with George would only mean one thing and this goes for any fighter in history.....THE END.

No contest
I remember when George said he didn't think he could have beaten Lewis in his prime. Sorry George but you are selling yourself waaay short. George nails Lennox and it's lights out. George was bigger, faster and a far better boxer than Rahman or McCall and way, way harder hitting.
