Re: Whats for dinner tonight?
Tonight I had a leftover burger from the weekend, and some veg - bit high in fat for my liking, but needed eating, and it's not like i'm going to throw good beef away
D
My weights stuck at about 73 at the moment - although my fat is going down and my muscle mass is increasing, I seem to have slowed the fat burning down. I'm going to cut down my carbs to 160g a day for the next 2 weeks. Not cutting them out altogether as it's just not smart to train so much and not have carbs, but i'm really going to watch them - most will be from fruit, and to help with recovery after training.

Brown rice and tuna fish with Hoisin & hot sauce. Bit of fresh pineapple for dessert. Should probably have a vegetable as well but I don't have any. ![[icon_e_confused.gif]](./images/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif)

Re: Whats for dinner tonight?
Anyone have any views on how much carbs are required? It seems to me that there is a very fine line between getting enough to support muscle growth / recovery and gaining fat. Now I'm getting older (nearly 40) I seem to struggle more than ever to get the balance right.
It sounds like Eddie has got it right. Any thoughts?

I weigh 70kgs and look to get 2 grams of carbs per kg, dropping down to 1.5 gram on non-training days. The truth is though, everyone is different. Keep experimenting till you get it right.

I had brown rice and lentils. Its a lot of carbs to have in the evening but its still good for ya. Lots of water and carrot sticks. I'm going on a big time cut for the next month. Going to try the no carb/very limited carbs after lunch bit the boxer fella was talking bout. Looking to drop 7-10lbs.

How many eggs does it take to produce enough whites for a dinner?
Re: Whats for dinner tonight?
Extra large eggs usually contain around 3 grams of protein.Dioufy wrote:How many eggs does it take to produce enough whites for a dinner?
I used to have around 9 eggs. Sometimes i fried it, but most of the time, i boiled the whole egg then removing the yellow.

Cheers guys, some interesting points.
I have about 160g of carbs 3 days a week, and 200-220g 4 days a week. I weigh 90Kg. I've lost a lot of fat (and am continuing to do so), but have also lost more muscle mass than I would like.

I'm going to give it a try. When I get sick of eggs I will substitute tuna instead. This month is going to be the month I stop being a lazy putz and actually drop the weight I want to. Just started the day with Steel Cut Oats. They taste SO much better than regular rolled oats.'Frilla wrote:I stayed lean throughout winter last year.Prediction..Pain wrote:'Frilla wrote:Salmon sounds good mate, might give that a go in a few weeks. Chicken with a bit of honey and ginger marinade, and salad.
Cutting my carbs down to 160g per day has helped me drop 1.5kg already this week

Tuna, steamed spinach and a lot of water. Just had a snack of 1/2 carton of liquid egg whites straight from the carton and about 10 almonds. :)

Tuna, 3 boiled egg whites and couliflour & broccoli cheese last night.
Chicken curry tonight - it will be healthy home-made one though. Will have a decent portion of rice, as I tend to load up on carbs over the weekend.
