Ruiz is in big big trouble, literally, if he fights Valuev, he's got no chance of outwrestling that monster, and as soon as Valuev starts landing he's fucked.

I've got a question about Valuev, when he fights what size ring do they have? are the ropes at the normal height?

They would be regular dimensions, although there is no 'standard' size for a ring. I think minimum is 16 foot square, can anyone confirm this?

Yes, the minimum size is 16ft and maximum is 20ft.

Actually I might be incorrect. Found this on the net and also states the same in the Queensbury rules.

A standard ring is between 16 and 24 feet to a side (4.88 m to 7.32 m) inside the ropes, although under 20 feet (6.10 m) is most common. The surface extends for around 2 feet (0.61 m) outside the ropes. It is raised around 3 to 4 feet (0.91 m to 1.22 m) from the ground. The ring floor has 1 inch of padding covered by stretched canvas. The ring posts are just under five feet in height and around 4 inches in diameter, they hold the turn buckles which hook up the ropes. The ropes are 1 inch diameter and are at heights of 18 in, 30 in, 42 in and 54 in (0.46 m, 0.76 m, 1.07 m, and 1.37 m), the ropes are secured together with spacers to prevent separation. The ring posts, (Click link for more info and facts about turnbuckle) turnbuckles and ropes are all covered with protective padding.

No wonder they call Valuev the beast because he's as hairy as one.

He really does step over the ropes too!

Does he have knee problems? Seen pictures with him wearing knee supports?

I would guess the way to beat Valuev is pressure and body punches to wear him down, many try this approach but have varying results. Etienne chased him around the ring and just got KO'd because of his weak chin, Marcelo Dominguez was in his face as much as he could be given he was conceding about a foot and a half in height, Bango did okay until Valuev landed the big guns and brought out that alien sized swelling on his ear, Vidoz had Valuev in slight trouble at times and did considerably well against him and Nobles aimed for the body but got kicked out for low blows!

Yeah i saw Felix Savon step over the top rope at the olympics, always makes you realise how big some of these boxers are.
