Chisora/Vitali attracted 30,000 new subscribers on the night
Apparently the cock up cost the channel £1million and they are trying to get compensation from the company that set it all up.

i had a survey from them, one of the questions was would i be willing to pay £15 for a one off fight. Thats if i was a non subscriber
so looks like they might be looking into doing pay per view type thing for non subscribers

I reckon people only trying to subcribe due to Del antics.smoggy7188 wrote:Apparently the cock up cost the channel £1million and they are trying to get compensation from the company that set it all up.

I noticed bunces boxing hour is now free view, I know they are goading people in, but I pay good money to watch that. I think the £10 per month should be scrapped, and every live fight night should be £5 to turn on, because this year would of only cost me £5 for chisora and £5 to watch Frankie Gavin, my next one would be £5 to watch groves v Anderson. I know they wouldn't make as much from me but if people could press a button and get what fights they want for a fiver I think they would make a lot more in the long run !

Its about half way down talking about costly error.

The mail said they had 20k subscribers before the chisora fight and hoped to double that so if they have gone to 50k then that is quite decent. Now they just need to keep them.

I think most trying to tune in were casuals who probably thought it was a one off!broomy7s wrote:The mail said they had 20k subscribers before the chisora fight and hoped to double that so if they have gone to 50k then that is quite decent. Now they just need to keep them.

My brother said he spent two hours trying to register online that night just so he could watch the chisora fight but it wasn't playing ball with his debit card datalils so he gave up and changed channel thinking it was going to go off air
You should have seen his face when I told him the next day it was free.

I cant decide whether that figure is good or not. Due to it being a minimum six month contract I think it is pretty good however I remember the figures that previous sky ppvs and the odd primetimes got which makes me undecided on whether they are good figures or not.

They didn't gain 30,000 new subscribers. The cock up meant that they didn't get the 30k they were expecting.
If they had 20k before then they've still got about that now (although a reliable source tells me that the actual figure is nearer 12k).

Didnt FW originally say he needed around 100k subscriptions for the channel to run properly?

So they really banking on Mayweather fight getting subcriptions up.Wake up call wrote:They didn't gain 30,000 new subscribers. The cock up meant that they didn't get the 30k they were expecting.
