Stephen Smith vs Ben Jones

Smith is a 6/1 favorite on my book. Maybe I am wrong, but I believe this fight is much closer and can see a Jones victory. What does everyone else think?

Hopefully Stephen has corrected things in the gym since his defeat against Selby. Though, I can't imagine we'll see the classy Swifty that we were used to in his earlier fights, as I believe Gallagher's style is all wrong for the lad.

Regardless, good luck Swifty. Show us the potential that we know you have.

I'd love to see Jones do it, but I think Smith's style is wrong for Ben and I doubt he'll get any help from the referee if he's up against spoiling tactics.

Nah I see this as a pretty easy fight for Smith, I think he can comfortably outbox Jones.

I'm an American who loves this British boxing scene. But regardless, I was way off. Great performance by Swifty. He showed a lot of confidence. Hope we see a Selby rematch.

Not much to judge on, but was happy to see Ste back to boxing. He clocked Jones with a left and then seemed to sense he had him in trouble. Got in close. Threw a few uppercuts. Gets on the ropes and then lads a lovely right to the head.

Great performance by Stephen Smith and I'd be excited about seeing him in with Lee Selby again.

My only gripe is that I thought Ben Jones at least deserved to receive a mandatory eight count to see if he could have recovered considering this was a 'title' fight. Yes, it looked doubtful whether he'd be able to continue as he briefly sagged against the ropes but I thought he should have been given the benefit of the doubt. It wasn't as if Jones was totally 'gone' like Stephen was when KO'd by Selby.

Good performance by Stephen though and the Selby rematch, assuming it happens, will be intriguing.

Smith looked like a man in a hurry, that overhand right is brilliant! Jones didnt look confident when the bell rang imo and Smith looked impressive to the body and the head, though still think Selby's style is all wrong for him.
