Nobody can doubt he has done well , just seems as if maybe he could listen to fans views a bit more , but then again hes made money for both himself and his fighters at times , got people title shots who maybe wouldnt have otherwise done .
If i become half as succesful as him ill have done extremely well .
I wouldnt trust him but i do respect him .

Your questions are nebulous, but this one is possibly the most irritating, so I'll give it a go.palooka wrote:

This question contains several implicit statements & makes several assumptions: to whit, that there is such a thing as "good for British Boxing" & that we all are somehow historically divorced enough from "British Boxing" to provide an adequate answer as to what "good for British Boxing" would be were it to actually occur. Also,"good for British Boxing" has no frame of reference. What might be good for fans who like to see evenly matched fights is not necessarily good for fans who don't give a shit about good fights but rabidly support some fighter on nationalistic/local grounds; what's good for both those groups is not necessarily good for the people who control boxing & make vast amounts of dosh out of it; what's good for all the above is not necessarily good for people who box themselves. & none of that is necessarily good for the semi-mythical entity "British Boxing". Lumping loads of conflicting interests (hardcore losers like me/local fans/promoters/television outlets/health of the game at grassroots level/interests of individual boxers etc etc etc) together muddies the water & makes the question & any answer you could possibly get practically meaningless, unless you really wanted (or indeed expected) to get a well-reasoned twenty-thousand word dissertation in reply that covers the entire spectrum of interests that go to make up "British Boxing" & carefully examines & then makes considered value judgements on whether or not the impact of said individual is "good" or not.
What did you actually mean? Or were you just trolling?

post mcclellen he lead the way for improving safety precautions for UK boxers. 2 ambulances on stand by, training camp pre fight weight checks etc.
Re: Can F rank W arren do anything right?
Datsue - any particular need to rant at the guy like that? Seems an innocent enough question he asked.
OP - i'm sure plenty of ppl do have cause to hate on Frank, but for a bunch of others it's probably just joining in with the crowd. I'd be interested too to hear what positives FW has contributed.

Yeah, 'cos going on a boxing website where you can't even type the name of the fvcker in question & going "Is this bloke all right?" is completely innocent, isn't it?Mensa07 wrote:Datsue - any particular need to rant at the guy like that? Seems an innocent enough question he asked.
Even if he was legit, there is such a thing as a search function, after all.
I apologise if you took exception to my response, but I actually was being quite polite; it's just such an open question you could legitimately take it off into about forty-five directions, come to forty-five different conclusions & argue vehemently for the correctness of each one & that combined with the blindingly obvious fact that you can't type the individual's name on this bloody forum without it editing it for you, got my alarm bells ringing.
But feel free to humour him. I look forward to it, the same way I look forward to my next dental appointment.

Datsue , Ive read enough of this forum to know you dont usually post in this way , ive just seen you doing similar on another thread , seems like your trying to answer questions in a faceacious way deliberately ,its not how you normally come across , Just saying .Datsue wrote:Yeah, 'cos going on a boxing website where you can't even type the name of the fvcker in question & going "Is this bloke all right?" is completely innocent, isn't it?Mensa07 wrote:Datsue - any particular need to rant at the guy like that? Was in my view a perfectly reasonable question , OP realises people slate Mr W arren and the like but wants to know what he does good , if anything .
Nothing wrong with that .
Re: Can F rank W arren do anything right?
Datsue;
I'm a long term boxing fan, maybe as long as you! I am a Sky Sports and allegedly subscriber. I do come onto the forum from time to time and quite enjoyed last nights show. It weren't the best I've seen and weren't the worst.
I asked a question as I imagined that I'd get some considered and intelligent replies.
Thanks for yours.

Thank you; I thought it was a question that could be asked and get a thoughtful responce.damianhucker1 wrote:Datsue , Ive read enough of this forum to know you dont usually post in this way , ive just seen you doing similar on another thread , seems like your trying to answer questions in a faceacious way deliberately ,its not how you normally come across , Just saying .Datsue wrote:Yeah, 'cos going on a boxing website where you can't even type the name of the fvcker in question & going "Is this bloke all right?" is completely innocent, isn't it?Mensa07 wrote:Datsue - any particular need to rant at the guy like that? Re: Can F rank W arren do anything right?
He is without doubt one of the most highest profile ambassadors currently involved in British Boxing today and has brought few a quite consierable number of British World Champions past and present in the shape of
Ricky Hatton
Joe Calzaghe
Terry Marsh
Nathan Cleverly.
Enzo Maccarinelli
Ricky Burns.
Amongst others and promotes the sport (and himself) with his column in Sun which is the most read newspaper in country so you cannot fault him on that, and you have to applaud the ballsyness in his decision to setup his own television channel to show boxing not just here in the Uk around the world. But it can be argued that he has upset a few people along the way which led to him ulitamtelyt getting shot back in 1989 and has ended up in court either being sued or doing the suing and has admitted to issuing 40 legal writs to various newspapers and gentleman of the press. So you know you always get a fight from him.

Isn't he paid a handsome sum to 'write' an opinion column which can be used as a platform for whatever he wants? Nice work if you can get it, that's for sure.IRLangmaid25 wrote:

Yes he is, but I do not know any numbers but I reckon it would be a quite attractive sum of cash, but that is probably just lose change to him with that, the promotions and his investments as well.dondada wrote:Isn't he paid a handsome sum to 'write' an opinion column which can be used as a platform for whatever he wants? Re: Can F rank W arren do anything right?
i think he does right and does wrong he sticks by his fighters and tries getting boxing on tv more which we need but if you leave his stable he either takes you to court or he or talks you down you never hear matchroom doing that sort of thing.
Re: Can F rank W arren do anything right?
I don't think his current promotional company is making much money!IRLangmaid25 wrote:Yes he is, but I do not know any numbers but I reckon it would be a quite attractive sum of cash, but that is probably just lose change to him with that, the promotions and his investments as well.dondada wrote:Isn't he paid a handsome sum to 'write' an opinion column which can be used as a platform for whatever he wants? Dear me, remember what British Boxing forums used to be like?
Datsue, ignore these cretins.

He's done a lot of good things, but there must be a very good reason why most fighters leave him as soon as they get the chance.
