Goodwin gave a great account of himself. I thought Johanssen just pipped it, but it was very close.

yes it was very close indeed but why people are slagging off wynford jones is beyond me he happens to be a very fair man and a exellent referee. great show though and hope many more to come in chester and north wales

95-95. Didn't fall out with Johanneson edging it (said as much in my review) Both fighters were brilliant.

goodwin without doubt won the first 2 and the last 2, couple of the middle ones could have been drawn or gone either way... a draw would have been fair, goodwin by a point would have been fair, johanneson by 2 points wouldnt have argued.... johanneson by 6 i have a big problem with

Johanneson landed the better punches and won the most rounds. Goodwin did a lot of shoe shinning, which sounded good but hitting nothing but gloves and then getting countered with clean punches does not win you a fight.

A differance of opinion on the tenth is what stopped you giving it a draw. Your post makes the fight sound comfortable.

Nobody is whining about the loss. They are complaining about somebody saying the fight was a six round fight

Not questioning the outcome, however a 1-2 point loss against carl johanneson is something we can work with to move onto better things, getting battered by 6 rounds is something totally different.

Lee Quinn (1-0) was unlucky to only get a draw against Rob Hunt (15-1-1)

Sean 'Masher' Dodd (debut) looked very impressive and brought a huge following

The 23-year-old Chester boxer is dominant over the first three rounds with his excellent boxing skills on the inside, countering the pressure tactics of Johanneson. From the fourth to the sixth Johanneson, 33, scored well to the body as Goodwin’s work rate dropped. The seventh saw action all the way as both fighters realised the fight was in the balance. Johanneson may have just edged that round and also taken the eighth to build a slight lead. Goodwin came back to take the ninth. The last saw both fighters battling it out to the bell in a close, hard to score round. The scores were 97-95 for Johanneson, 96-95 for Goodwin and a 99-93 for Johanneson. The latter card did not justice the effort Goodwin had put in. Former British featherweight champion Johanneson had won 4 of his last 5 fights after taking two years out of the ring. Goodwin was unbeaten in 14 after losing his first pro fight.
