P4p hardest punchers of all Time

1. Joe Louis- Yes i know this is p4p but at his peak he was only around 200 lbs. which would mean hes a cruiserweight today. although nearly 6'2 he hardly got over 205 lbs yet with all the big destructive 240 lbs heavyweights, louis is considered the hardest puncher of all time. louis did fight very big heavyweights who were also very good, and he had no trouble knocking them out easily. louis could KO you cold with either hand and knock ur teeth out with his jab. can u imagine what he would do to cruiserweights if he decided to fight at that weight( which he wouldnt) he might literally kill some of them when he hits them. his great handspeed made his power punches even more powerful.

2. Jimmy wilde- the man had the punching power of a man much bigger than him. he constantly at 100 lbs knocked out 125 lbs which at the lightweights is a huge advantage to the other man. 99 KOs in 130 wins. no one his size could come close to matching his power. had an incredible right hand, as well as good left. his speed in his punches is what made his power so amazing.

3. Rocky Marciano- one of the hardest hitting heavyweights of all time, yet one of the smallest. he had KO power in both hands, and his suzie Q was the most devastating punch in the division. at 185-190lbs, he hit like a man much larger than himself. he built up his power by hitting a 300 lb punching bag (3 times the normal size). his overhand right was one of the hardest punches in heavyweight history which accounted for most of his KOs. I cant see any guy his weight ever hitting as hard as him. imagine jean mormeck being able to take rockys punches?? and u wonder why he would fight heavyweight today instead of cruiser.

4. Jack dempsey- at anwhere from 185-195 lbs, he wasnt the biggest of heavyweights. but his punch was the biggest of heavyweights. he had a devastating left hook which was his trademark KO punch and one of the hardest left hooks of all time. but he also had a great right hand so he had the two handed power. He showed at 192 lbs he could still knock out the big men. in fact his best Kos were over the big heavyweights and he liked having the bigger target. he retired 6'6 245 lb willard with an incredible beating which left mosto f the bones in his face broken. jhe started it off by flooring him for the first time in his career with a short left hook in the 1st. dempsey also KOed other great fighters like geroge carpentier, big Luis ANgel Firpo, and jim flynn, fred fulton, and battling levinksey. even past his prime, he still kayoed jack sharkey, and he gave gene tunney the first KD of his career and maybe only KD of his career.

I think it would be between Langford, Hearns and Wilde. I think it's all but impossible to rank the Heavies in this discussion

Most of the picks look pretty good. There are a couple that I disagree with. I know Satterfield has a reputation as a big puncher, but is it really deserved? He scored KO's in less than half of his fights. The only fighter of note that he KO'd was Cleveland Williams, and even that isn't that impressive since Williams was a last minute replacement.

It's also stretching it a bit to include Sugar Ray Robinson. He did have that great KO of Fullmer in their 2nd fight, but for the most part he wasn't a huge puncher.

I would consider adding Aaron Pryor and Ruben Olivares. There are probably others that I'm not thinking of.

Alp, are you serious about Sugar Ray? He is one of the best punchers, P4P in history. Devastating power in both hands. 109 career knockouts. If it's a pound for pound list for power he certainly deserves top 10 consideration

Roberto Duran was one of the greatest KO artists that I have ever seen. He is the only fighter in modern history to have a KO in every round from 1 to 15. That is why they called him "The Hands of Stone"

Alexis Arguello, "The Explosive Thin Man", was another monster puncher that could knock you out in any round. He carried his punch as moving in up in weight.

Ruben Olivares was AWESOME at bantamweight. I saw his record and he had 56 KOs in his first 60 bouts...Unbelievable POWER

Gerald McCllellan was also AWESOME. He could really hit.

Felix "Tito" Trinidad's POWER was UNREAL at 154.

How about big George? He had a run there when he knocked out Norton, Frazier and a few unfortunate white guys which was just brutal. And then there was the six inch punch that made him the oldest HW champ.

foreman isnt high on the list cause its p4p.

and arguello probably does ddeserve to be on the list. and i thought edwin rosario was the harder hitter than duran, with that right hand. bvut obviosely duran had great power and would KO rosario if they fought.

If you're going to have Carlos Zarate, you could probably include Alfonso Zamora, too, although Zamora wasn't quite the same after Zarate was through with him.

Actually, if it's pound-for-pound we're talking about, perhaps Zarate belongs in the top 10. We're talking about a bantamweight with about a middleweight's punch.

These are four that come to mind who had several, clean one punch knockouts against quality opposition. There's a few more, but I can't think right now, but everone listed certainly fits the category.

You've got to include Ruben Olivares, Duran, and Cuevas!... Cuevas was awesome a far bigger pure puncher than Hearns he used to literally break his opponents up!. Others I'd include are Chalky Wright, Peter Kane, Danny Lopez, Paul Berlanbach, and Jock Mcavoy.......

Olivares and Cuevas certainly should be in anyone's top 20 list, possibly top ten.
