This from some wandering crybaby who thinks a Welsh turd with a handful of fights could beat a World champion.
Lee Selby? Jesus!
Are you and Hounddawg the same person? Or just both one eyed aussie's who can't see past the boxing mecca that is OZZSTRALIA. Selby may have had only a handful of fights but he's more talented than Dib - maybe Selby should be fighting against hand picked below par asians every other month.
Who has Selby beaten? Dib has fought at least six times in the USA, losing only to a World Champion. Selby has never fought professionally outside the UK and managed to lose to a boxer with a 1-0-1 record. You remind me of far fetched stories in "Boy's Own Annuals", the cheap books Dad's work picnic gave out in the late 1950s and 1960s that has English schoolboys flying airliners, killing lions on safari and solving crimes.

The wandering crybaby is back in Sydney on june 7th for a month. I'm sure there'll be a show then, I managed to go to one of Mark Pawsey's last time but went on my own, would be nice to go with a fellow boxing fan (however one eyed.) so you keen? Would be nice to put a face to someone I've been arguing with for year on the net. I might even buy you a coldy - a fosters ;;-)

That's a piss poor attempt at steering the conversation away from the issue of Billy Dib's constant and ongoing illegal tactics :TU:

Here you go then, my final word on this one...Billy Dib does not have the mettle of a champion and it manifests itself in his constant disregard of the rules regulations and generally accepted codes and standards of boxing. He'll will lose 8 out of 10 against topflight opposition either by DQ or being beaten by a superior fighter. To sum up...he's an inferior titleholder

Yet he just beat the universally recognized top 10 fighter by stoppage(Fighters call), the fighter Escobedo seemed content with the fact that he lost.

So it's allright for a fighter to have his head hanging between his legs, so his opponent can't hit him, that's fair i guess as long as it's not an Australian doing it.
It's alright for a Mexican to hit a man well after the bell, but if Billy Dib does it, well...that's just not fair dinkum is it Bollox.

There's no one eyed shitt going on mate, the fight was entertaining, Escobedo was a real opponent, and Dib dominated him with high agression which i agree needs to be looked at by Hussein, but Dib wasn't the only one there fouling.

Everytime an Australian wins a title or a meaningful fight, the barmy army are here to put us Aussies perception in check.

I watched Chris John fight on the last Danny Green card and although he won, he really didn't set the night on fire.

The Dibster would give John a run for his money with his aggression, height and body punching. The Kid will need to watch out on his dirty tactics as a less lenient referee might start docking points earlier. As for his expletive ridden entrance music (?), or was that gangsta rap - give it the flick!

i enjoyed watching the fight, and obviously the guy was quality opponent.
my take on the fight was the ref was a bit of a dick by taking aim at billy the whole time, without really doing too much about the mexican ducking down the entire fight.
i agree billy needs to cut the dirty tactics, but its hard/near on impossible to not hit a guy in the back of the head when he keeps his head down like that, as well as grabbing your arm while doing it. hopefully his next opponent comes to fight, not carry on.
lets not forget the guy had a stint in the states, and had a loss to a champ, so he should be allowed to build up after that. and i for one like the run he has had since then. he talks up a big game of going back and fighting big fights, so if he does that then GOOD ON HIM!! ill be 100% supporting him.
but he's still a dick, haha.

Only Pommies drink Fosters. Sorry, but I have too much going on at home to go to fights. My wife and I baby sit our grandchildren five days a week and I have several medical appointments coming up. Shit happens when you are in your 60s.

I'm from the states and just watched the Dib fight tonight. Now this has nothing to do with what country he's from, but I must say, I was very surprised he wasn't DQ'ed at the end of the first round, or at least docked a point. I can also tell you I've seen enough fights to tell you if he defended his title in any other country (England, U.S., Canada, Mexico etc) other than his own the ref would have stopped the fight after the first and awarded the decision and the championship to his opponent. Don't get me wrong Dib is a talented fighter, but I really cannot understand how you his fellow countrymen can not only defend his in ring antics, but be impressed by them. I could understand if he was slick and fouled without detection and style, but he is flagrant as fornicate. Shit if a American champion fought like that in a boxing mecca American city they would be disqualified, I just don't think ya'll should defend his behavior.

Pretty accurate first post on the topic :TU:

There's no mention of the fight on the current scene which is a shame. I'd liked to have read the comments from a non biased perspective

Billy pushed the rule book to its limits and I was surprised that he wasnt docked a point early, but hey its not a ganme of darts. he respeceted his opponent and knew exactly what to do to unsettle him.. I remember when Billy had very little aggression about him and was a show pony and many criticised him for it. Now he shows huge aggression and he cops it again. i was very impressed. bring on not only John but any other challenger. Dib is a very big, strong feather who will give any of the top echelon guys an extremely tough fight...and as for John. If the fight was tommorrow Billy would win !

Nothing is too stupid to say twice, is it? Why wasn't Tyson disqualified the first time he bit Holyfield?

What's wrong with people from other countries commenting on fights in Australia, Brute?

If you disagree with their comments, you have the right of reply.

Why do you have to label them as "turds"?

Guys I don't think everything is perfect here, far from it. Sorry for the double post after I submitted it the first time I didn't see it posted, it wasn't until after the posted it the second time that I noticed it said the post would have to be reviewed by a moderator first, so complete laziness on my part for not reading it the first time.

As for the fight, with exception of the first round Dib did tremendous work, mainly focusing on the body! He was landing crippling body shots round after round until his opponent actually quit (which is quite impressive because most Mexicans would rather die then quit a fight.) I also don't feel all the dirty antics by Dib are the reason he quit, except for a coupe right hands Billy walked into, Escobedo was never in the fight. I'd love to see him make a huge name for himself and Juan-Ma Lopez is ripe for the picking! I could see Dib taking him out in around 8. I would also like to see him defend his championship against one of my favorite American FW's from Philly Teon Kennedy! He's a young fighter from the "Old School Philly Gyms" and I think that would be a amazing fight as well.

As far as the turd comments go, I have no response as I can see how my first (double) post could come off as sounding snobbish and elitist, which if you knew me couldn't be farther from the truth. I'm a small town guy, from a tiny town of 2,700 people in (Central) Illinois. I'm the only boxing fan I know of in the whole town (folks around here mainly watch NASCAR & ILLINI Basketball), the only boxer people know around here is Mike Tyson. So you can imagine how much fun that is...I watch whatever I can find on the tube or the internet, but almost all the fighters I really enjoy are foreign, which is why I've only been in the Aussie forum. Hope we can get along in the future!

P.S. Oh and on a side not that young Philly fighter I mentioned earlier just replied to my Tweet, his next fight will be on June 9th on the undercard of the Pacquio/Bradley show! Just thought I'd let ya'll know!

*Edited* Teon just Tweeted me again, he's fighting Guillermo Rigondeaux for the WBA World Super Bantamweight Championship!
