Think I would be "injured" if my opponent was in that shape!!! SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO gutted this fight is off, if GG is injured and this gets rescheduled or if he gives up a belt for kenny to fight someone else then maybe all will be good BUT if he pisses off for a world fight and leaves kenny in limbo is not good for the sport!! I agree is not good for all these other fighters on the undercard too who are needing experience and exposure, wouldve been a good night of fighting all round i reckon!!

He was doing sprints the other day he was saying on twitter! This is the second bill on the trot of Warren he pulled out off. The WBO fight on a German promotor bill.

If Maree said anything other than that he believes George's injury is legit, he'd burn his bridges with Warren. So what he says in public about this doesn't carry any weight for me.

Those saying "you can't blame George, this is a great opportunity for him.." etc are effectively saying "yeah, he's bullshitting about being injured, effing over a fellow pro and God knows how many boxing fans, but I'm good with it". I don't get that mentality. I liked the kid till today and have paid to watch him box, I won't do in the future.

Perhaps if this is what we all think it is and he beats Stieglitz then give Kenny first shot at the title, its the WBO which is well known for its generosity in terms of challengers in Britain, at least give the man something to strive for, he must be devestated after this loss of opportunity plus earnings.

anderson had groves hurt, knocked him down i think in around the 3rd/4th? then Groves came back had Anderson blowing with bodyshots, stopped him around the 7th i think. anderson got himself into mando position, i think, and it was well-known he only had about 2 weeks to prepare for the last one-.

It's not just Kenny missing out here what about all the undercard fighters i'm sure they were relying on the paycheck an some good exposure. Also I bet chunkys jealous thinking he had overtaken Groves with his euro title but while he's in limbo Groves has a great chance at winning a world title. Anyone think if Groves wins FW will match them both or will he just feed him the usual bums for a couple of years?

Gavin, Skeete, Saunders and Buglioni all miss out due to Groves.

Back in December (when Groves did his hand and DeGale later pulled out) Damon Jones' debut was called off, he's only just debuted this past week. Awful move by Groves but did anyone ever think the Groves/Booth-Warren partnership was going to work well?

As for the situation, if members of the press speculate on the synergy of the Stieglitz/WBO situation then Groves will produce a medical note, as doctors will happily provide written proof of a back injury, and kill that line of speculation stone dead. This was the case when Wlad-Haye fell apart the first time and the business with Setanta took place also, people had their theories etc. but you couldn’t argue with the doctor’s prognosis.

The Germans won the purse bid to stage this fight, Warren has no promotional involvement and he is not Groves's manager, Booth is. No reason why Booth shouldn't deal directly with the Germans under those circumstances. Hard to see how FW would benefit from the cancellation of his own show as he will not be getting paid off the Groves-Stieglitz fight. If Groves wins, FW would promote any defences in Britain, there is that. But he has lost a major show and an important subscription driver for allegedly, any benefit Warren might get (the win isn't guaranteed) is unlikely to be until autumn at the earliest because no boxing promoter in his right mind would run against the European Championships and the Olympics. Also there is no guarantee that 456 would even show the Stielitz fight as they will face rivalry from Sky in the bidding. Doubt FW is delighted about all this.
