Archie Moore vs Bob Foster...

Post by silkov »

The mother of all Light heavyweight fights this could be!... who would win?... :o .. another difficult one!.   .. I see this going either way on a ko!. 8) :-? .. I lean towards Foster winning by 11th round ko. :box: :box: :box: :TU:  ...

I have to agree. Foster had such advantages in height and reach, plus Archie was up there in age by the time he was a full fledged light heavy. They were both very crafty ibn the ring- and Moore would have to get close to land, thereby exposing himself to getting hit more often. And Foster wasn't one of those tall fighters who stands around waiting to get countered over his jab; he 100% knew how to maximize his reach. Foster by sudden KO in the latter rounds of a rather dull fight.

Moore might suffer an early knockdown or two but he'd come on late to stop Foster.I don't think a 42 yr old Foster could last 9 rounds with a murderous punching Marciano like Moore did.Archie would have trouble with Foster's speed and jab in the early going but once he figured him out he'd ko him.

Archie toughs it out, hangs in there and notches one more on his all time KO record.

..speed was archie's enemy in his later light heavy days moreso than power. i think archie would have outsmarted and out countered foster and scored a clean knockout, without getting into any trouble himself.

...and....i consider foster a superb light heavy.
