Dick Tiger vs James Toney. What If?

Post by KOJOE90 »

Who would have won in a fight between these two teak tough, crafty fighters? Both had fine victorys at Middleweight and above. Would Dick Tiger be too strong and punish Toney to the body with his vicious left hook? Or would the crafty Toney outsmart and counter-punch Tiger?

Who wins between Middle and Light-Heavyweight fight fans? :box:

I'd go for Tiger... higher workrate and tough as nails, Toneys fancy moves wouldn't worry Tiger and he'd push him back and not let Toney dictate the pace. Tiger by decision. :box:

tiger definatly, he possessed too much power for toney, and he was a hardworker, which i dunno if the same could be said for toney...didnt he get caught with steroids?

Tiger

Way too much pressure. He was like a super version of Jirov when he was in his prime. One of the greatest hearts in boxing history.

At middleweight Tiger wins because Toney was not the fighter he became later. At light heavy I think Toney would win partly because his skill level was much higher than it was at 160, partly because Tiger was nearly 40- wasn't he 37 or thereabouts when he fought Foster? Toney would have a sizable reach and quickness advantage and he would be able to use that well and he fought very well inside at 175. Toney would win via UD possibly late stoppage due to cuts, Tiger would still be standing I suspect. The price he would have to pay to get close would be the difference, and with Toney's hand speed advantage Tiger isn't assured of winning the infighting

Yes, it would have been interesting to see how Tiger reacted to Toneys trash talking?

Tiger by decision. Everyone seems to be thinking the same on this one.
