Question about Miguel Cotto.

I read in the current scene forum that Miguel Cotto lost to a Columbian boxer named Juan Urango as an amateur. Since ameteur boxing is not my expertise I was wondering if the knowledgeable people of this forum can verify that for me. Thanks a bunch.

I checked it up. Miguel Cotto beat Juan Urango at the 2000 Olympic qualifier in Tijuana, Mexico 9-3. He then lost to Kelson Pinto and both had to go to the third and final qualifier in Buenos Aires, Argentina. That bout I saw. They met in the final and Cotto won a hardfought fight 12-7 and qualified for Sydney.
Maybe Urango has beaten Cotto on another ocasion but I doubt that.

Once again on the current scene forum someone claimed that Urango beat Cotto... they showed me a link of proof but it seems a little fishy because locoxelbox assured me that Cotto beat Urango in the Olympic trials.. yet the link says Urango beat Cotto.
