Marquez vs Barrera.

How did you score this fight?

Ive just re-watched the fight today, and scored it a 114 - 113 to Marquez.

2 judges scored the fight 116 - 111 to Marquez. I was quite shocked because both fighters had to really dig to earn a round.

If the knock down in round 7 was given to Barrera(which should have happened), i would have scored it a draw, as Barrera lost a point in the same round for hitting Marquez while down.

I was going to post this in the OS forum, but figured(from experience :P ) that i am far more interested in the opinions of the posters from the BOTP who take boxing serious, and have some impressive boxing knowledge, maybe its because you are all old. :P D

Id be very surprised if anyone scores the fight a 116 - 111 Marquez.

7-5 Marquez.though 8-4 was fair imo. It was a pretty sloid performance from Barrera all things considered

It was your 3 amigos thread that made me rewatch this fight. D

It was close from the start, i had it straight down the middle, the 7th round made the difference.

Marquez landed more power punches, Barrera did enough to win with his jab and accuracy and also making Marquez miss...ALOT.

Barrera landed more punches throughout the early rounds. I thought Marquez just stepped up that little bit more in the later rounds and scrapped past Barrera.

The fight was very hard to score.

I think I remember I had it 8-4 in rounds for Marquez. I don't think MAB won more than 5 rounds, and even given the exrta pt for the KD in 7 it's cancelled out by the pt deducted, and I'd even buy someone having it 9-8 Marquez b/c JMM dominated the round prior to the KD.

Marquez landed some good punches, but most of them were answered imediately. Through the early rounds, Barrera beat Marquez to the punch.

it was a close fight that should have had the knockdown but i still think marquez knicked it by a round or two, but it depends what u like.
