URGENT!! BELLEW V MCINTOSH MOVED TO APRIL 13TH
***FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE*** ***FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE*** ***FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE*** *** FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE*** ***FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE*** ***FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE***
David Coldwell and Eddie Hearn would like to announce that ‘The Big Bang’ boxing show headlined by Tony Bellew vs Danny McIntosh will be moved from its original date of Saturday 14th April 2012 to one day prior on Friday 13th April 2012.
The event will still take place at Liverpool’s Echo Arena and doors will now open at 6.30pm.
David Coldwell, promoter of Coldwell Boxing, issued this brief statement earlier this morning.
“Due to Liverpool going through and the possibility of an all Merseyside FA cup semi-final, we know this is the only option.
“It’s a fantastic fight with a strong undercard but when it comes to football, you can't win.
“Many of Tony's fans are Everton fans, many of the undercard boxer's fans are Liverpool fans and they all would have been disappointed to miss the show but now they can potentially attend both events.
“Adam Smith and Sky have really got behind this show and have worked with us in order to secure another date for broadcast so I'm delighted that nothing has changed in that respect.”
PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT ALL TICKETS PURCHASED FOR THE ORIGINAL DATE REMAIN VALID FOR THE NEW DATE.
TICKETS FOR ‘THE BIG BANG’ CAN STILL BE PURCHASED AT WWW.COLDWELLBOXING.COM AND
WWW.MATCHROOMBOXING.COM
Tickets are priced at £30, £40, £60, £80 with VIP tickets at £150.
VIP DRINKS RECEPTION WILL NOW BE 6.30pm-8.30pm

And coz it clashes with Fury v Rogan.
Good news as far as I am concerned - now I can watch both.

Those semi's should never be at Wembley anyway, but they are . So makes sense to move this forward a day.

Absolutely ridiculous that 80,000 fans from one city are expected to trek down to london for a semi final just to pay off a stadium. Common sense needs to be used for FA cup semi finals, a short trip to Manchester would be the obvious one or even at a push villa park

But then they have already brought their tickets. Their main worry is obviously the people who might not, should it clash with the football.
Like it or not Wembley has to be paid for so semi finals there aren't going to change

I couldnt give to shits about the footy,Everton aint even through yet...Surely it was madness putting a big show in the same city on the same day as the Grand National, most off them will be to skint or pissed to get to the boxing... If Bellew has as many fans as he think this shouldnt have matterd...Lenny wrote:ThisTommy Gunn13 wrote:What about all the people who booked train&coach fareS&booked hotels?? for the saturday, there going to be loads out of pocket...NOT GOOD!!!

Ive been out of work a while&starting back monday..im hoping i can wrangle that day off but its a big ask in a new job,ive lost out on train&hotel,Danny said il be able to jump on a coach from my neck of the woods, but im still out of pocket... Ive a feeling the echo is going to be a deserted place come the 13th..Casio wrote:Exactly that!!Tommy Gunn13 wrote:I couldnt give to shits about the footy,Everton aint even through yet...Surely it was madness putting a big show in the same city on the same day as the Grand National, most off them will be to skint or pissed to get to the boxing... Coldwell put off the last show due to no suitable opponent for Barnes and it was commendable, but this time it sucks. People will start to realise that Bellew isn't the draw he portrays himself as.

How many tickets has sold thus far?
Re: URGENT!! BELLEW V MCINTOSH MOVED TO APRIL 13TH
The friday suits me better to be honest i just hope the show doesn't end up getting scrapped due to shit ticket sales which was always going to be the case putting the fight on the same week as the national.
Re: URGENT!! BELLEW V MCINTOSH MOVED TO APRIL 13TH
Sorry for the hassle its caused, but it's not just about everton.
The undercard has plenty of boxers on that have liverpool fans following them so it hits them in the main.
The fact Liverpool have gone thru makes it very hard, if everton go thru also its impossible.
The Echo is very highly in demand, so dates are hard to come by, matching it up with available tv dates makes it even harder.
Trust me, its not something i wanted to do, but it's a fact that we just havent really got a choice. Whichever way, there is a loss and unhappy people involved.
We've been up front and honest about it, there are no other motives.

Lol, i must admit i do wait for your posts KGKing Geedorah wrote:"Hello, welcome to Friday Fight Night. It is Friday the 13th. Will Tony Bellew face a horror show in his own Liverpool home? Is McIntosh his bogeyman? Will someone come forward slowly and in a straight line just like Jason Vorheese and get his head knocked off?"
Re: URGENT!! BELLEW V MCINTOSH MOVED TO APRIL 13TH
This is poor all round - poor planning in the first place, and poor for now having to change the date.
Leaving the football to one side, why on earth would a promoter book this fight on the same night as the Grand National ? (I am assuming that the date of the Grand National wasn't some kind of secret this year ?? ....).
So in 2 days there is possibly - the Echo bill, an FA Cup Semi final and the Grand National - a Giro will only stretch so far you know !! ..............

All we need now Adam Smith or Dave Darts dressed up in fangs and dracula cloak and it will be just perfect.King Geedorah wrote:"Hello, welcome to Friday Fight Night. It is Friday the 13th. Not again! Bloody hell hoteliers must love boxing, rooms booked up front, fee paid then no cleaning required..
I blame George Groves.

Re: URGENT!! BELLEW V MCINTOSH MOVED TO APRIL 13TH
It's not the sport its the fans who manage to book themselves non-refundable rooms to save £3.50, despite being burned by the sport 15 times previously. I'm sure if boxing fans could find away to spend their beer money ahead of supping, they'd pile in.Final round wrote:Not again! In fact that gives me a great idea - sell non-refundable beer tokens for boxing shows in advance at a discount on the bar price. Be able to do some simple financial modelling to work out the average number of shows that fall apart and calculate a healthy margin. I could then both come on here to plug the venture and also snigger at all the mugs I've made a few quid out of! Dragons Den, here I come!

It's a fair point. People always moan about date changes citing hotel bookings etc. Just cancel the fornicator.Final round wrote:Very nice DaveTommy Gunn13 wrote:Dave has said on his twitter if hotels arent refunable if you show him proof he will give you ringside tickets to one of his bills in the next 12months..Cant get fairer than that
