When he won the welter title Dec. 14, 1892, did he defeat Danny Needham, as reported here at BoxRec, or Frankie McConnell, as my newspaper source of Oct. 15, 1937 (reporting on his death) says?

Bill Schutte's biography on Billy Smith has him beating Needham on that date ..... if that's any help.
