What was the best era for boxing?

Post by tonyevs »

Some say the 70`s for the heavies and even Monzon gets in the top middle weight vote even now and that also was the 70`s.

The 20`s had tough men and 40-50`s had their share also but modern fighters have the modern technique and diet to get them down to the weight.

So who gets it? the raw natural fighters or the trained fighters of today??

I think it would be the 1920s through the late 30s; it was still damn good after that and the last of the real pros hung around into the mid 60s even but those were the best years.

Okay everybody throw something at me I don't blame you :) but I really think it depends on the division. The heavyweights had a great division during the mi-sixties to the late seventies. But quite frankly they are less than impressive these days. The welter through middleweights were great during the 40's and 50's perhaps less so during the 70's and so on.
