Who do yout think Wins??
ill post my evaluation later. and if ur gonna argue liston, please dont use the foreman-frazier fight as an example cause their completely different fighters not to mention joe was overweight (10lbs heavy) and wanst the same fighter he was when he fought foreman.

Depends on what era the fight would be staged. If the three knockdown rule is in effect, Liston wins an early TKO stoppage. Dempsey was fast but was tailor made for Liston's stinging jab. Either a early TKO win or commanding decision for Liston. Liston couldn't KO Dempsey, but his coming forward style would cause him to get caught with a combo before he could get inside.
It would not be a Foreman-Frazier, as Foreman hurt Frazier badly with every punch. Dempsey had a good chin but in my opinion is tailor made for Liston.

I don't think the size advantage is as extreme as some make it sound; in fact I don't know for certain that Liston was bigger than Firpo, as he was only a 215 pounder in his best years, while Dempsey fought at 190 give or take a couple pounds, if memory serves. I disagree with the assessment that Liston would have target practice with his jab, and as far as being powerful, well they aren't competing in weightlifting. Dempsey would have a significant edge in speed particularly in foot speed or mobility as well as having the faster hands. In addition he was far and away the better defensive boxer and given his style- do you recall the famous Dempsey Triples, and his bobbing and weaving attack?- I would suggest that the style of Liston, the use of the jab in particular, was made for Dempsey. The fact is that the strength of Liston, his jab, feeds right into the strength of Dempsey which was slipping the jab and then bobbing and weaving under and around while throwing the hooks and uppercuts that made him famous. Tunney kept him at bay with his legs and the impact of the tremendous right he landed in the 1st round; Liston did not move like that. In every tape I have seen of him, he is pursuing and Dempsey wouldn't run and I don't know how Liston would fair in an up close fast paced and furious round after round fight with Jack Dempsey. I'll go with Dempsey by UD over 15 while withholding the option of changing my pick to Dempsey by TKO after the 10th.
