already been spoke about on another thread , Petranyi isnt great but at this point of Dannys career its not a fight he needs , he will get stopped by an opponent he was far superior to in his prime , and Petranyi is no spring chicken himself

Dannys career seems to be getting sadder and more bizarre by the month.

To be fair to Danny while his punch resistance has gone he is still dealing with the dreg fighters, he's only getting stopped by the undefeated guys.

I agree , i may have been a bit harsh saying he will get stopped by petranyi who is hardly a power puncher

Hard as it is to believe, but I reckon if Williams got a proper trainer who he listened to and took his training seriously again and got under 255lbs I actually reckon he would do ok on the domestic scene, not saying he would win the British title again, but I don't think a Danny Williams with a proper training camp that he took 100% seriously would be disgraced. His punch resistance would come back with improved fitness and proper sparring. I do always wonder how things would have gone for him if he didn't have the 'dietary problems' of stuffing his face with Mr Kipling during that period of his career.

Is he the chap who came into the ring sporting a mullet wig? He was appalling.

The fight with Petranyi was already scheduled before that , i think theres been a bit of fabrication in the other fight , its more likely the middleweight has got fat and going to be boxing at heavyweight .

I think you're right about the middleweight thing and that fight...although interesting that this week's Boxing News mentioned the rumour of Danny going down to Middleweight.

 Really? That was just some joke someone made up on eastside as a windup.

Reminds me of the time when the Brazilian footballer Sandro moved to Tottenham hotspur and as a joke I edited his wikipedia page saying that the Brazilian fans at his old club sang the song "Sandro scores the goals, Sandro scores the goals, Sandro scores the goals, so we will give him a cow, and he will milk it" - a reference to Sandro's agricultural upbringing. Complete bollocks that I made up as a (crap) joke. Anyway I read in the metro on the tube the next day that exact story. I had always wondered where metro's sports journalist got his insight from and now I know.

Williams fight versus 'Leif Larsen' was horrific. How many times do we have to watch Danny get beaten up? Please retire Danny.

Dannys conditioning doesnt actually look too bad, he looks about the same as he has for the past 4 or 5 years, but his punch resistance has totally gone and fighting on in his current condition you have to fear the worst for his future.

This fight could be off - Danny has claimed he is fighting in Abu Dhabi on June 19 (9 days after the Petranyi fight)
