At Class on Sat one of our students pointed out that I can hyperextend my arms way past 180 degrees. I didn't realise it until now, but it might explain why I struggle to get arm barred or americana'd at times.
My question is this; when weight training for curls should I be mindful of not over extending when doing curls? Will it damage the joint?

Definitely YES. Be careful, especially with Scott curls. Go all the way down, but only 99%.Poncey wrote:At Class on Sat one of our students pointed out that I can hyperextend my arms way past 180 degrees. Interesting, tends to usually just be women that can do that. ;;-)
I can hyper extend my arms at the shoulder which is a little less useful, although I can lick my own elbow
