Multiple Weight Division Title Fight

Post by chucktaylor »

Check out this fight between Kevin Cagle and Travis Clybourn: http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_ ... &cat=boxer
It was reportedly contested for the CBA Jr Middleweight Title, North Carolina State Middleweight Title, and the South Carolina State Heavyweight Title. :OhYes:
This may be the best BS title fight I've come across. It spans several weight divisions, two states, and the highly coveted CBA title.

Didnt sugar ray leonard fight for the super-middle and Light-heavy titles in the same fight? Donny Lalonde?

...the fight in question is meaningless as it relates to titles.

If Leonard is a 5 weight champion then Henry Armstrong should lay claim to being the equivalent of a 12 times world champion. Simul-fukking-taneously no less. 3 legit titles with no other claimants x appr 4 generally recognised titles in today's money....WBC, WBA, IBF, WBO. 3 x 4 = 12 titles. All at the same time. Piece of piss, mate :TU:

A Carolinas title means a damn sight more than a WBC Silver, IMO. At least it means something.
