whats so special about Karl place?

Post by Adamj1987 »

having never watched him before but heard good thing about himnm, whats so special after last nights struggle against 1-4 Dan Blackwell? Blackwell seemed to really fancy it and if he didnt get cut probably would of put some extra effort in (i'm not saying he didnt but probably didnt want to be stopped on cuts)

hes strong and aggresive but easy to hit and doesnt look like he takes a shot too well, ste williams showed how to beat him, hes a bully, stand up to him meet him in the middle of the ring and fight him back, he will be in some good fights with his style but people saying hes the next big thing are talking bollox :shame:

He's not that good, the reason he gets so many accolades is that he was just the right place at the right time.

If he's anything like the shower of chav scum that follow him he might not be such a nice lad.
Place will be one of those fighters that you hope gets obliterated for me.
Would have loved to see the look on the faces of his fans when he got destroyed by the wallasey express :TU:

Adam, tawk ta me.
final? he struggled from round 3 onwards he was getting tagged cleanly and got pushed back afew times from some of the right uppercuts, dont thing he knew how to defend them propperly. he kept doing wild flurries when he would land a few but majority missed then he would have a little rest as if he thought he was going to gas. the score didnt reflect how close the match was. place certainly won the rounds but dan looked a weight divison bellow. and i'm not sure howmuch notice he had as his photo wasnt even in the program. maybe blackwell with decent notice could of taken him, certainly they looked very similar skill wise.

pics from the fight

Karl is a good lad and that was his first fight back from losing unbeaten record so a lot of pressure! I believe he will come good

watch his fights and he is good against blown up super featherweights or light weights meets a good light welter and he is shit, people were saying he would beat ste williams but i watched a few of his fights most are against super featherweights so i knew ste would stop him pitty the bookies wasnt taking bets on it cause i would of had a wager on it. he got rocked by savage who is a super feather so it was easy to predict a williams win.

didn't mean to disrespect place in my earlier post cause anyone who steps through the ropes has mu utmost respect I just think his management team built him up to be a little something that he isn't,if he boxes abit more and doesn't get involved he will look good and could out box most but if he gets caught it can be an early night for him.

In fairness to Place, a clash of heads led to his downfall against Williams, not a lack of strength as suggested above.

no it wasnt a clash of heads it was a body shot as place was throwing an uppercut if you look properly :)

Place was clearly unsteady following that exchange; a body shot does not have such an effect.

It was a clash of heads that got place wobbleing without that place would have caught up with williams in the later rounds I think place will dominate the light welterwieght division in britian very soon.
